gillykat824:  Usually in that style of architecture, the bricks forming the actual arch stick out from the surface of the building by about 1/2 the thickness of the brick. This makes it perfect to drape a garland or other floral arrangement over the top of the arches.

  • you could drape garland or place a floral arrangement on all 4 arches.
  • you could do the same on just the two doors
  • you could do something like this with small wreaths being used to hang draping. If I did this I would place a wreath on both sides of the doors and in between them- 3 wreaths in total- and have draping hang down between the two doors and on either side of the doors. Leave the window arches untreated.

Rather than decorate the rails, I would place a potted plant or floral arrangement on top of the 3 brick columns on either side of the stairs. If you are having your reception at the same venue, these plants or floral arrangements could do double duty if someone moves them to the reception.

gillykat824:  I usually just go to the fabric warehouse and buy whatever has the look I want, in the color I want and is the cheapest. You can use chiffon, oganza, voile, theater scrim, lightweight canvas, cotton, polyesters etc.

You can sew fishing weights onto the bottom edge to keep it down on the ground.
