- Wedding: September 2013
I could really use some help/input, as I am going crazy trying to figure out ideas for ceremony in the same small space we are having our reception.
We are getting married in my FH’s family bakery, in a room that they don’t use for much, renting everything (tables, chairs, linens, dish/flatware, etc.), and while it is a cozy room for the dinner part of the evening, I am trying to figure out ways to make it work for the ceremony as well. There is no other room for the guests to go to for a cocktail hour while the room is re-organized with tables and things, so I am trying to figure out a way to make it work with the guests already seated for dinner.
The problem is the room is not very big at all, and the tables take up most of the space. I’ve inserted the layout we are thinking of using below. The Head Table is a huge table already in the space, about 9 feet long and 5 feet wide… I had originally planned on moving it out of the space, but not FH say’s it’s too heavy and that really isn’t an option, so I’ve made it work with the space. It just really throws a kink into my idea of using the space already set up for dinner as the ceremony space as well.
There is a conservation area nearby that I had considered just holding the reception at, but they want $900 plus the cost of an officiant just to hold the ceremony there, which is out of our budget.
Please help bees, before I lose my mind!
