Check out Laura’s Hooper’s post on Weddingbee Pro about Chicago OOT bags. Isn’t that map so adorable? I love the bag.
I also found the original post on Elizabeth Anne Designs with the rest of the details
and then let me know, Chicago bees what are you planning on including in yours?

Our wedding is in the Boston area. So We are going to be putting Charlie Cards (it’s the subway/train passes in Boston) with like $5-10 dollars on them so they can sight see in Boston for free if they want!! We have several Friends from out of state who have never been to the area so we thought it might be good since they will probably sight see while here!

We used reusable tote bags and tied a vintage Chicago postcard with a handwritten note on the front. Inside, we included water bottles, Advil, city and transportation maps and goodies made in Chicago – Orbitz gum, Jelly Bellys, Quaker granola bars, Tootsie Rolls, Jays Potato Chips and Affy Tapples (we had a fall wedding). Good luck!!

Our biggest hit from the OOT bags was Garrett’s Popcorn. We got a couple of huge bags of their famous mix (cheese and caramel) and repackaged it in cute little bags. Everybody loved it. Otherwise, our bags were pretty much the same as ChicagoKarla’s.

Hollaa, where’s my Chicago girls at?
I’m starting to get ready to put these OOT bags together…and I need more ideas! What are you putting in your Chicago OOT bags?
Do you have any recommendations for places to get free pamphlets or information on tourism in Chicago? I want to encourage our guests to explore the city for a couple days after our Friday night wedding.

Hey there LatteLove!
I am gathering my own info for OOT visitors and making a packet to put in our OOT bags…
As for my OOT bags, i have 2 bottles of water, a bottle of gatorade, Quaker Oats Granola Bar, M&Ms, wrigley gum, kleenex, Chicago magazine, tylenol/alka seltzer, Buckeye candy (my FI is from Ohio)
We may also add little bottles of california wine (where FI and I live) and Jays Potato Chips (if they dont get smashed by all the bottles in the bag)
We are doing a combo "Chicago bag" and "help you through the party weekend" bag 🙂
Hope this helps!

City Hall has tons of free brochures if you’re ever in the loop, but most hotels do too. I would include maps for the CTA, in case your guests want to explore without cabs. Maybe a brochure for the trolley tours too, since those usually include transport to and between most of the main touristy spots. I’d of course also include a list of you and the mister’s favorite places that may be off the beaten path too! If you’re not often in the city itself and want recommendations, I’m sure the hive could help! As far as food and trinkets, the suggestions above look great!

You can go to the Visitor Center at 77 E. Randolph St. to get free brochures, maps, and a huge city guide. They got annoyed with us when we took so many, so you might have to make a couple of trips if you have a lot of OOT bags.

Fannie May candies, Garret’s popcorn, coupon for Giordano’s pizza, Frango mints, Wrigley gum. That’s a good start!
