I've seen where people use pretty fabric or paper and cover the TV's.
You could even have a few pictures of you and your FI blown up to size, and cover the TV with it. If you can't get the pictures big enough, cover them with color coordinating paper, then put the picture up, it will look like huge matted photo frames.
Maybe you COULD do a slideshow. This would make the TVs look purposeful. Maybe use Picasa or Photoshop to do some vintage/sepia treatments on some of your engagement photos or photos of you two from throughout your relationship. Then stick them on a DVD and set them on repeat (so maybe you have 30 pictures per TV, each one's on the screen for like 2 minutes, and they just randomly cycle through. Guests might see each picture 3 or 4 times but so what?) Then, your photos will match your theme and the TVs will look like they're meant to be there.

So my charming vintage reception venue just decided to install two huge flatscreen TVs in the reception room. They are mounted right above the dance floor, and are really an eyesore. Plus, they definitely don't go with our vintage theme, and we aren't planning to do a slideshow or anything. I asked the venue if they could take them down, but apparently they are bolted to the wall. Anyone have some pretty, crafty, cost-effective ideas for how to cover or disguise them?
