I re-visted my wedding reception venue over Thanksgiving break and realized I had a few areas to decorate that I hadn’t really been considering. The first is a fire place. It’s in the corner of the room and my fiance really wants to decorate it and show case the fire place. We are having a fall themed wedding-so I guess I could just put a few pumpkins up there but I was looking for something a little more interesting.
There are also 3 large pictures hanging on the walls. We can’t take them down but we can cover them. I just can’t think of anything to cover them with.
Finally, there are 24 gold laterns hanging on the walls. I saw them decorated at christmas and there was some evergreen pines and a red ribbon–but I can’t think of anything I can do with them for fall.
Thanks for your help!

@Tigerlynn: Here are a few fall type ideas for the fireplace
The only thing I could think of really to cover the pictures is if you did some sort of wall draping like this
Depending on how much work you want to put into you might be able to make a ribbon wall to somewhat cover them….but not sure if it would completely
I would just leave the lanterns as is on the wall …..no one will notice and I seriously don’t think anyone will notice the pictures either!

@Tigerlynn: for the pictures, go to Staples or Kinko and get either pics of the two of you or your parents’ wedding pictures (if appropriate) enlarged as engineers prints. They are printed on very thin paper- as large as 3×4′ for $7. get them printed just larger than the inside dimension of your frames.
Use spray adhesive to attach the pics to a thin sheet of foamcore or luan cut a smidge larger than the inside dimesnion of the frames. You will be able to bend the pic a little and place it into the frame without using glue or anthing else.
I don’t think you need to decorate the lanterns (?sconces) but you could hang a wreath on them if you chose to.
You could also just tuck a branch of autumn leaves or berries behind each lantern, or make a little swag of leaves, wheat, pheasant feathers etc and hang it below each lantern.
