My fiance is obsessed with fishing (read: we have over 50 rods in our living room…), and I thought I’d incorporate some whimsical fishing details into our reception. One idea I’ve had is to make centerpieces out of wicker fishing creels — like the picture below:
Any other ideas for a fishing-themed reception?
Thanks in advance!!

@cdn_bunny: We did these for our favors…
There are swedish fish and gummy worms inside. The tag says, “They Fell for Each Other Hook, Line & Sinker” 🙂

A tackle box for a cardbox
small bags of swedish fish candy
Buy small plain tin boxes (preferably with no labels on them) and paint the tins a pale to medium green with enamel spray paint (do this in a well ventilated area). Once dry, stick some children’s fish stickers here and there on the tin. Fill up with gummy worms and present your wedding guests with their own “tackle” box wedding favors.
Pick up packs of “Go Fish” playing cards and wrap in netting or fish theme wrapping paper.
use an old fishing boat or canoe filled with ice for beer and soft drinks
use an old fishing creel as your cardbox
old fishing poles at the entrance as a type of arch
escort cards could be river rocks with names printed on them
Play Brad Paisley’s ” I’m Gonna Miss Her. The Fishing Song
ETA – yes I know it’s about a guy choosing fishing over his girl, but I am sure most people have a sense of humor.
