I saw some really pretty ones on stylemepretty. They're spice jars. Check them out!

hmm, it stinks that the venue is being so strict!
We are doing personalized M&Ms in our colors in little white boxes that are labeled with name/table number.
If you can get them to bend on the no food rule (it's just M&Ms!!) you can pick up some bags of M&Ms in your colors at Michaels.
I LOVE the spice jar favor. If we weren't doing our candy bar (the box they put the candy in is their place card/favor) we'd definitely be doing fall spices for our fall wedding as a favor.
I would double-check with your venue on the edible favors. I only say this because our venue was pretty strict about bringing in food, too, but they were okay with our candy bar and said that edible favors would have been okay as well. They mainly don't want you bringing in other major foods for the actual meal because that's how they make their money, obviously.
But yeah, seriously in love with the spices idea. And I've seen little bottles of olive oil, too. For that, you could buy the tiny little bottles at a craft store, a giant jug of extra virgin olive oil and throw in some herbs, and voila! Just a thought :)
how about photo magnets - you can replace photo part w/ table number, etc for the wedding and they can use it for photos later.
We are going to use scratch off lottery tickets in glassine envelopes with stickers on them stating the guests name and table #
I was going to say that spice jars are a great idea!! Or, you could always (depending on the number of guests) look into something personalized, like wine glasses or pilsner glasses--I went to a reception where this was the gift but it was very simple/small in terms of receptions. They were a hit!
Does your wedding have any kind of theme that could be replicated into a favor?
I've seen photo coasters that work well -- insert the name and table number now, and then your guests can use the coasters later and insert their own photos.
I found these! I would prob just attach a "tag" to each box with ribbon but these are super cute!

I just found out that I will need to make placecards for the dinner following my ceremony (45 guests). I'm hoping to find a favor that will do double duty as a place card holder. I'm looking to spend about $1-2 on each one.
Some of the limitations-
- edible favors might be out of the question since the restaurant has stringent policy about outside food
- want something useful, not just something that looks pretty
- need them in 10 days!
I'm really liking the place card holder turned photo holder and the votive place card holder ideas.
I don't mind some DIY but I do have a lot of projects on my belt at the moment, and not a lot of time left so it would have to be pretty simple and quick.
Please help!!! TIA!
