I just found out that a good friend is pregnant. She is 13 weeks and I would like to make a pregnancy survival kit for her as a gift. I’ve never been pregnant so I’m looking for some suggestions. Right now I am thinking of getting her: a gift certificate to Motherhood Maternity, some nice body lotion (suggestions?), body wash, and one of those wheat/rice filled heating pads that you can put in the microwave. So far it’s been a smooth pregnancy, no morning sickness or other things, she’s just been more tired than normal. Any ideas for other things I can include? She is a major bookaphile so she already has about a million books about pregnancy. I’d like to keep the price below $50.

I asked this question a couple of weeks ago. Here’s a link to that thread with some great responses. I sent preggie pops, belly butter, a pregnancy journal and a bella band.

Belly Band from Target (the cheapest I found), Preggo Pop Drops from Amazon ($8?).
Forever 21, if there is one near you, has a pregnancy “starter kit” that comes in a muslin gift bag. It has a belly band, tank top and leggings. I think it’s like $20?
In trying to keep it under $50 I would ditch the lotion and body wash personally.
And in the same line of thought I would go with a GC to either F21 (Love 21 Maternity line) or H&M (MAMA their maternity line) if they are near you. Cheaper than Motherhood Maternity (unless you catch sales at MM)
P.S. So sweet of you!
