I want to come up with something creative, cute, fun and meaningful to FI and myself to use to number our tables instead of “1, 2, 3, and 4”
I know cities traveled together are a popular idea, but we haven’t traveled to that many cities. i tried to think of some beach themed ideas (like names of beaches or oceans), but none of seemed to be what i wanted nor was i that excited about them. we are getting married in Jamaica, hence the beach theme.
But i don’t need beach theme, any cute idea i might go for.
so got any??

My friend’s friend from Canada got married in England to her English fiance. The Canadian guests sat at tables named after Canadian beers, and the English guests sat at tables named after English beers. Ha. Not sure how much you like beer, but it just goes to show that anything can work as long as it means something to both of you.

I’m going to name my tables after herbs and instead of making or buying signs with the herbs names on them; I may just have a collection of herbs in mint julep cups surrounding the containers to give my guests a little challenge. You can also name your tables after films, songs, poems, hymns or foods that you’ll be serving.

Hmm… books, songs, movies… just wedding related words, flowers, types of sea creatures or beach related things? “Love” or another appropriate word in different languages? Or just marriage related words?

@tychaetolia: hmmm i like that. though i am not into beer and we are both Canadian! but we are living in California right now, so another idea i had was california places/cities we have visited so far, like San Francisco, San Diego, Yosemite…..
but i like the originality of the beer idea, so i’ll keep thinking.
any others anyone?

@SapphireSun: i like the idea of movies too! we are HUGE movie buffs and we each have a couple of faves (me: Harry Potter, Twilight. FI: Lord of the Rings. both of us: The Matrix). i will only have 3 or 4 tables, so maybe that could be it!

lol, if this was MY wedding and not OUR wedding i think i would totally do this: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn!! but that would be about me and not us, sigh…

@Darling23: there are 4 or 5 major cities in Jamaica that i know of: Montego Bay (which could be the head table, because that is where we are getting married), then Ochos Rios, Negril, Kingston, and Runaway Bay.
i like that too!
now i have to decide which one of all these ideas!! its never easy is it, lol.

FWIW, I like using Jamaican city names or Bob Marley songs. My brothers would love that, haha. It keeps it related (beachy) but not exactly all about being on a beach. I think the venue will like it too. Lol

We chose to do something personal to us and named each table after spaceships in the game we met while playing. 😀 We had things like Naglfar, Nyx, Hel, Aeon, Avatar, etc.
I love the movies idea! I could totally see having Gondor, The Shire, etc as the table names. 😀
