Here are 2 pics of my table mock ups minus my flowers which I have not choosen yet. I also am having table squares of green damask with blue vases on them. I have not recieved my sample square in the mail and when I do I will put that mock table together too.
My delemma is I want to sit my vases higher up. I tried to sit it on a vintage cake stand. I like it, kinda and my mom doesn’t like it at all.
So…any suggestions and/or ideas are openly welcome!

I’ve seen cake stands made with one glass and one clear matching plate. What if you made a cakestand out of the same glass as the blue, but clear to match the centre and then add a glass plate on top? (you have to watch that they corrdinate or the DIY will be obvious!). Or more simply just use a clear cake stand? It might all flow together a bit more. 🙂

Something to keep in mind is that most flower arrangements are the same height as the vase they’re put in, so your flowers will effectively double the height of your vases. The vases may look low now, but they won’t appear that way when they’re full of flowers. 🙂 If you still want more height, you can glue two vases together and hide the glued-together part with paper or a ribbon of some sort. The centerpiece would look more put together that way.

One thing to keep in mind… Though really tall centerpieces are beautiful, your guests may actually like to see each other across the table! If it is too wide and tall it will be like a eating at a table that has a large column up the middle. I am with your mom on the cake plate; it is just too much and depending on the number of tables you have, how easy will it be to obtain that many vintage cake plates?
Sorry to be a downer. I am sure it will all come out beautifully. I am just thinking practically and not trying to be unpleasant. Honest.
Best of luck to you!

I hate to say it, but I agree with your mom. The cake plate is distracting. You could put the vase up on a piece of florist foam that you cover in ribbon. It gives height without feeling heavy or bulky on the table.

I also am going on the cake plate is a no. Plus as a guest I would like to see across the table. I think your vase with flowers will be a very nice height
