I’ve just recently been thinking about that.. my shower is Sunday. I’ll need to get 3 gifts — MOH (my sister), my mom and FMIL are jointly hosting my shower. My initial thought was flowers. Everyone likes getting flowers & I was going to have them delivered to their work, we all know it’s exciting to get flowers at work 😉 But then I thought “Well they’ll be nice for a week or so, then die…” So then I was thinking maybe a gift card. My MOH and mom both like to go out to eat, so I was thinking a nice restaurant gc.. not sure what kind of gc for my FMIL. I’m going to keep them around $30 a piece.. since I have to buy 3. I’ll probably send the gifts (whatever it may be) a few weeks after the shower.. when I send out the rest of the thank-you notes.

I gave my hotesses (all 6 of them) scarves.  We had a fall wedding so it fit with the season.  Plus, I found a great deal online.  They received them following the shower, when we were together without other guests around.

for one shower, I gave the hostesses wine and chocolates from where I live at the end of the shower; for the other shower I sent them gourmet cooking gift baskets about a week later.

I am glad I read this.. I didn’t know to gift my girls anything the day of the shower.  I have some of their gifts picked outbought for the actual wedding so I may have to readjust.  Thanks bees!

I’m glad I read this too!  I didn’t know I had to give them a gift.  Definately a bottle of wine.

I brought monogrammed robes with a note that said “Here’s something for your next shower!”  I gave them to the hostesses at the end of the shower, after the rest of the guests had left.

I gave my MOH a little gift basket that had perfume, a super cute travel coffee mug, a wine glass my MIL painted with her initial on it, and some other little random goodies

I’m thinking about these customizable trays from Etsy. They are a good price and you can personalize them for each  hostess. I’m also having an OOT shower so I can have them shipped to my mom’s house and not have to worry about taking them on the plane. Im planning to wrap them in clear celephane and cute ribbon and set them up on a table at the shower. I love that everyone gets the same gift but they will also be very personalized.  they can use them for hosting to set drinks on, to use at a catch all, a jewely holder, or just as decoration.

@cmbr:  Flowers. Being wealthy she probably has everthing she wants/needs. You can never go wrong with sending an old lady flowers lol

@cmbr:  Flowers and perhaps a gift certificate to a restaurant she might like?  Flowers and a nice pashmina shawl?

I did coffee mugs from Pier 1, and had a assortment of small cofees and teas placed in them from Target and wrapped them up nicely with fun ribbon from the Dollar Tree. Everyone seemed to love the fun and funky coffee cups/ because anyone who drinks tea or coffee would use them. It’s not something that would just get tossed to the side or thrown away.
