Hey Bees! I know this isn’t wedding related, but I’m in some (desperate…) need of some ideas to grow my massage therapy business.
I specialize in more medial-oriented massage as well as reiki and I’m also a yoga teacher. I’m not in a “spa setting”. I gear myself towards being more therapeutic.
I’d love to hear personal experiences from Bees on what you all have done with starting a business, or knowing someone who has. Also, I would love to hear from Bees who don’t have their own businesses (or don’t know anyone who does) just to hear what you like to see or what types of advertising get your attention!
I know a massage therapist who lives off of making groupon deals. I don’t want that to be me! I want clients that I can help who will return to me so I can form a real therapeutic relationship with them instead of having people come only one time.
I currently have a website, a google offers deal, and I’m thinking of a living social deal (I’ve heard people have better luck with them instead of groupon where LMTs seem to get people looking for their “weekly massage deal”).
I go out and do chair massages at different events and I also get some clients through the place where I rent out of (the acupuncturist will recommend me and sometimes people will call in and the lady who owns the building’s book will be full, so she gives clients to me). However, I still seem to be struggling to get a full book.
Any and all ideas and tips are much appreciated! I love creative and adventurous ideas. I’m willing to try anything as long as it isn’t scamming anyone, projecting a false image, or selling myself short. 😉
Thanks ahead of time!
