Im worried that my ballroom may be a bit too large for my party.  I know that tables, dance floor, and bar will take up some room but what other choices do I have???  I am already aware of draping.  If you have any pics that would be appreciated to if you have them.  Thanks~

Hm, I think we could probably help you more if you first posted pics of the venue!

Lighting will def help!!  Dim the lights down low.  This will help eliminate the sight of any dead space.

i have the same issue. along with draping and lighting, we are also setting up a few small lounge areas for people to hang out in.

How about the dim lighting plus uplighting?  That always works!

Why not bring in some lounge chairs and make a separate lounge area?  that might be nice and cozy.

tall centerpieces, uplighting, ceiling drapery, wall drapery, bigger dancefloor, central cake display (vs setting it off to a corner)?

I totally second the lounge area. And if you have something planned like a candy buffet or a photobooth, you can highlight that area as its own place or area.
