If it was free, what famous bands would you say NO to for your reception?

One Direction, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, to name a few.

Strictly sticking to bands, because we’d never allow a musical act that didn’t play their own music (other than Lorde, my SO loves her. Which is hilarious to me because he’s a metalhead).

Screamo bands

I can’t really think of many bands…

Ylvis — sorry, but What Does the Fox Say has been a great catchy 2013 novelty, but I can’t imagine looping that for the whole night!

Jack Johnson — great guitarist and songwriter, but I can’t imagine a night of smooth and slow songs.

Simple Plan

Nickelback.. or Theory of a Nickelfault

Norah Jones — great music for spa, not for a wedding.

@ladyamalthea:  Hm, John Mayer and Jack Johnson would be great for ceremony music — just not wedding reception material.

@Cynderbug:  I would LOVE to have Ylvis sing the fox song at my wedding, lol ! FI and I were obsessed about this song.

Most teen idols, they’re not of my generation and my guest’s generation, I don’t think they would be excited to see Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift (who ? huh ?) appear on stage.

Britney Spears – her voice is too painful to hear.

Madonna – She’s so full of herself.

Céline Dion – no, just no.

I don’t really know what to answer. It’s easier to think about a few bands I’d love to have, rather than thinking about a list of all the bands/singers I wouldn’t like to see.

I like bands but these are my music picks:

Kayne West! I can’t stanndddd him and his idea of a performance.

Justin Bieber, just because I’m almost 30.

Anyone who does hard core rock/mosh pit/Marilyn Manson type music. Do they still do that anymore?

Sugarland *shudder*. They could offer to pay for my wedding, pay off my student loans, and buy me a house, and I STILL wouldn’t let them play my wedding.

@ladyamalthea:  Maroon 5. Can’t spend your whole reception wanting to bone Adam Levine 😀
