I'm with ya! Bora Bora, Tahiti, somewhere down there. A little hut over the water with a glass floor and privacy galore. Fabulous food, amazing drinks, romance galore...oh man. If i had 20K, I'd be all over it.
I could also go for something along these lines in the Greek Isles.
If money was no object we'd definitely being going on our Honeymoon all over Europe! There are so many places in Europe we want to visit, we'd take a month or so and visit everywhere. That would be awesome!
It would definitely either be a loooooooong trek around Europe, and NOT backpacker-style. Or, I would love to travel through Japan, then Thailand, staying in fabulous hotels. I love traveling more than anything. Just thinking about it makes me swoon!
World tour! I'd love to spend my honeymoon traveling all around. Spend a couple of months exploring Europe and Asia. How amazing would that be in a chartered boat?
I would definitely want to go to the Virgin Islands and stay in Richard Branson's estate. I hear that it's close to $10,000 a night and all the major celebrities including Mariah Carey frequent the place.
Tour of south america!! we may end up going to Brazil, which will be amazing but if I could do anything, it would be to travel all over south america for like, 3 weeks...dream.
If money were no object at all, I'd take a honemoon and never come back. Put in my notice at work and just float my life away learning about different places and the unique people and cultures of the world.
I've already thought this one through. If we were suddenly uuber rich, I'd buy a condo on "Residence sea" and float away..have our kids there and we'd just see the whole world.
Japan- the major shopping cities, just for a week. Whoosh the trouble I'd be in! I used to dress in a lot of avant-garde fashions, and Japan is like a crazy-fashion mecca! I think I'd faint if I walked into a BTSSB or AP! (I can't even look at their websites anymore, because I start to loose the carefully crafted restraint it takes to keep me from falling back into the stranger of my fashion habits!!!) FI would have to drag me out kicking and screaming, hehe. I don't even consider going there because of the amount of money it would take for me to fully enjoy myself between the shopping and the food!
Hee hee - we talk about this all the time.
First stop would be Easter Island for at least a week, then on to Fiji, Tahiti, Bora Bora or the Maldives. (OR all of the above).
I wouls love to go to Tahiti, and my FI would love to go to Ireland. So we'd be making quite the trip if we could afford it.
I think we're doing it...going to the Greek Islands. Though we might have upgraded some of our accommodations and flown first class. Then again, I'm pretty excited about the places where we're staying b/c they look quite luxurious, have great reviews, and are off the beaten path.
Now if time were no object...it'd be a different story. Probably we'd stick with the mediterranean b/c we both got really excited about the idea. but we'd visit a few more islands, maybe head to Turkey, and probably some time in Italy as well. I heart the Adriatic Sea :)
Somewhere in the South Pacific for sure - Tahiti or Fiji - places that you can get to but I would do them first class - every amenity you can think of!!!
A thorough trip through Europe or rent a private home on some secluded tropical beach.
Wow, fun thread! I would love to go on a year-long around-the-world trek! Stops would include Africa (a safari), Bora Bora, Australia/New Zealand, Galapagos, and Bora Bora - to start!
Ah, a girl can dream.
I wouldnt even know where to begin. Maybe see all of Canada first, in the best hotels of course :)
I would definitely go to Greece, Italy and France. And then after so much "work" - I'd just have to take a few weeks in Bora Bora!
I would tell anyone the BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD is Necker Island (Richard Branson's private island in BVI). I had the privilege of staying there for a week last summer for a friends birthday. It is truly the most amazing place I have ever been or will ever go. I am getting married this September and know that no place we go will be like it. Check it out at neckerisland.com
I'd do a first class, five-star Asia trip: Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, China, then pop over to Bora Bora and do the glas bottom hut thing. Oh man, typing all that is slightly depressing, but I'm sure we'll figure something out that won't cost an arm and a leg.
If money was no object we would still take the same vacation. Just stay a lot longer so that we can see more places! :) Probably at least a month instead of the 2-2.5 wks I'm hoping for.
If money were no object and HE was planning: Egypt and Finland
ME: Ireland, London, Prague and Paris!!
I think I'm with Opus and Wheresmydessert -- I'd wanna go all over the world. FI and I hate hate hate to fly. So, I'd love to cruise out of New Orleans (never been), stop by the caribbean, and cruise to Europe. Then, take a train around Europe (definitely stopping in Italy, Spain, and Greece). Finally, cruising to Australia and New Zealand. (Then return trip would take awhile by boat and train, but we could always just visit different cities!) Man, that would be awesome!
I think we would have gone to St. John or Turks and Caicos if we could have afforded it.
Asia! We'd spend a month in China, Korea and Japan, and possibly some other nearby countries.
at this point a honeymoon at all anywhere would be awesome to have but if I get to choose it and money was no object I would do a few things:)
It would be a month honeymoon:
First week would be spent in Fiji
second week would be spent on carribean cruise
third week would be spend australia
fourth week would be spent on a horse back trip outside jackson hole wyoming
There would be lots of fantastic trips on each, food, shopping, and of course ROMANCE:)
Topped off with a lot of pampering...massages, etc:)
There are too many locations to list, but I think the main thing would I would make it a longer trip, like several weeks or months, a splurge on nice hotels and meals!
i would say a few months in europe. my mister has never been and i grew up there. it would be amazing to share it all with him.
I think I would like to see America. I know it's not as exotic as most of the places that everyone has mentioned, but I think I'd like to see what we had to offer in our own backyard. I know that I'd have to spend some time in all of the national parks (we LOVE national parks and we considered going to Yellowstone for our HM). We'd also plan on visiting New York, Chicago, New Orleans and San Francisco. Our little trip would take forever, but at least it would be fun!
I've lived in Moscow for two years and spent an extended summer in Beijing, neither of which my FI has traveled to so most likely one of those cities. My minor in college was Russian History and I would love to show my FI the amazing culture of Russia and hopefully he will understand why I am SOOO crazy about the wonder that is Mother Russia.
But money being no object, we would have to do Moscow in style.... Best hotel with an amazing banya (spa in english), black SUV with specialized plates so we can zip through traffic, and money to go shopping for wonderful furs and artwork.
Oh naangel55 you have me longing for a vacation!
The Seychelles. I've been longing to go there for quite some time now.

Where would you take your honeymoon if money was no object? I wouldve either gone to Australia (but Ive already been there), or I wouldve gotten an over-water hut with a glass bottom floor in Bora Bora (first place we considered, SOOO expensive!)
