I voted for the earth-mined diamond option, with a fancy blue diamond center stone in mind (hey, you said “anything”, after all!) But I would also happily go for a colorless diamond or an earth-mined sapphire, as long as the gem in question gives me enough finger coverage. 🙂

I have a diamond and that’s what I would keep.  My FI is pretty traditional and wanted me to have a classic looking ring.  That’s what I have and it’s what I love.

I have a 1ct unenhanced moissanite that looks fantastic, in a gorgeous setting that I love. And I would do it all over again if money were no object because it was exactly what I wanted to begin with.

I voted Amora/FB Moissanite – I’ve honestly never wanted a diamond, but I love the sparkle factor of Moissanite.

My second choice would be a colored gemstone – either a blue sapphire or a white opal.

ETA – My e-ring is an enhanced Moissanite.

jessjlstar:  I love all different types of stones too.  I love looking at the gemstone threads.  I love colored stones.  My FI is pretty traditional though.  He definitely prefers a diamond.  He had some pretty strong feelings about not liking halos at all too  :-).  We found something we both loved, because I wanted to wear something I thought was beautiful and that he could be happy he gave me!

I sure would buy an amora even if I was a millionare, and spend my money on other things. Diamonds have never been on my “OMG! must have list” regardless of how much money I had. There are a lot of other things I would want to buy before I ever even considered a diamond.  I probably would have a whole jewelry box filled with sparkly moissys though. Not that it would matter, but everyone would assume it was a real diamond if you had millions sitting in the bank anyways.

jessjlstar:  My e-ring is FB moissy and it is exactly what I would choose if money were no object. For me, nothing beats the combination of the romance of it only occuring naturally in meteors, the beauty of its sparkle, the whimsy of its moodiness or the peace from knowing it was made in a lab.

The only thing that would change if I suddenly became a millionaire is that I would have MUCH more lol.

I chose Amora/FB moissy since it can be in the same price bracket as the colored moissy. I would go for a ridiculously large barely pink RB. I currently have an 8mm (2ct) but wouldn’t protest a 5ct!

We chose a natural,  untreated champagne sapphire for my ring and to be honest,  I wouldn’t want anything else! Someday I would love a pale yellow sapphire for a RHR, but other than that,  I’ve always love colored gemstones and was never a big fan of diamonds.

I’d love a Padparadscha Sapphire in the light peach-yellow color or a dark green almost kelly green emerald. I love my diamond but I love colored stones so much more.
