I have asked myself this question SO many times already! I am trying to decide on what to save on, and what to splurge on. I have it down to a few (all things I’ve splurged on or spent time on, incidentilly )
- our vows, which we are writing ourselves, and the general “personalized” feel I am going for at the reception
- our flowers (all red roses. our main color is champagne with red as an accent)
- our food (totally broke the bank on the venue/food)
- our band (I was 100% set on having a live band, and I hope people enjoy it as much as I hope they will)
If I could pick ONE though, I would have to say our band/ music. I want people to have fun and dance all night! I havent been to a friend’s wedding with a band yet, so I think it will be something that stands out in my guests’ minds.
What is the ONE thing you wish guests will remember about your wedding?
EDIT: I didn’t mean for this post to come off as materialistic, I am just wondering where to splurge and where to save (i.e., I am saving big $$ on the cake because I don’t care too much about it and don’t care if none of the guests run up and take pics of it)

The ceremony/vows. The reception is just a party, the vows are the heart of it to me

@Irish2014: aww that’s sweet! that puts things in perspective, I need to stop stressing about the money/ details and remember what a wedding is really about! 🙂

I want them to remember how much fun they had!

It’s all been said above – the atmosphere, our love, the vows, how much fun they had celebrating us. Sounds cheesy but is important to remember that that stuff is the heart of a wedding.

@Bridebee13: THE FOOD & how BeeeeeeeAUTIFUL it was…bc well all the weddings i have been too, those 2 things did not stand out to me, probably bc all the brides were younger. Don’t get me wrong they were A LOT of fun! Just not good food or that beautiful of a space:)

For us it was the food/venue. I’m sure people already know/knew how much we love each other and of course they would remember we got married.
