The reception was the most important thing for me – food, drinks and fun! I want the guests to have a good time.

Food & drinks would be my largest worry.. I wouldn’t want my guests to go hungry.

@freshflowers:  I voted ‘elope’.. for me it’s kind of all or nothing! I think i’d get sad if I had to only spend the bare minimum and couldn’t get what I had my heart set on. For me, even if spending only a small amount, if it wasn’t what I really wanted it would feel like a waste. If that was the case i’d rather just fly off to somewhere romantic with my FI and get hitched just the two of us!

I would choose photographer, which is currently our biggest splurge. I would make all of the food myself and settle on a cheap dress, but the photos will always be the most important

I picked venue, but we picked the venue because of the catering

@freshflowers:  Wedding rings!  They’re the only part of your wedding that will be with you day in and day out, something you look at several times every day for the rest of your life.

I chose photography, as it is what we have splurged on. Our wedidng(only wedding day expenses) is under $5,500 so by no means a “huge expense” but almost half is photography. But all in all, as long as I got to marry my man, Id walk down bush path in a potato sack with a huge smile on my face.

If we were in a position where a wedding really wasn’t possible. We’d elope. Sure all weddings are about making everything fit into a budget bit it it were so tight we’d just skip it.
