We had 120 at ours and our dance floor was like, 30×30 I think? mostly our younger guests danced and I think at the most we had like 50 people out there for the electric slide. It was big, but if you get TOO big, people are like, scared of it!

Maybe 50×50 for your wedding if you think most guests will dance?

Most weddings Ive been to/worked that were around 150 people, an 18×18 dance floor was big enough especially since its rare that everyone will be on the dance floor at the same time.  I had 220 people and our dance floor was 20×30 (or 40 cant remember) but it was also built into the room – it was plenty of room!

Your venue should be able to tell you what size works best in your space and your size guest list.

The last dj’ed party I went to, the entire building was wood flooring so they moved the tables around to make room. But there was a 12×36′ space which included the dj station so it was really only 12×26 and there were about 15 people max any given time and it felt almost a little too crowded (and none of us were normally claustrophobic) so I would have a larger space if you expect 100 or so guests to fit.
