I am starting the process of researching photographers in the area. Looking for someone who will do three hours of service AND include the high resolution images CD. Everyone seems to want to charge me the whole price of a wedding day even though we are planning on getting married on a Friday afternoon before 5pm. I do have one photographer that is happy to do so but want to keep looking around a bit.
If you are already married, what photographer did you use? Were you happy with them and why?

If you’re having a wedding on a Friday, are you including that in your emails to the photographers? I’d say asking if they’re available Friday, June 22, 2016. Some pro photogs won’t take a shorter wedding day because they’re confident they could book a full day wedding that day & make more $. Maybe they’re assuming you mean on a Sat so that’s why they’re quoting full wedding day price?
Also, are you really getting married in 2016? Some photographers will not book that far out. I would not book that far in advance.

@canthugallcats: No the date was wrong its June 2012. Yes, I am clear that I only require three hours of service and that it will be on a Friday afternoon. I am telling them the total number of people (8) and that I only require them for the ceremony and pictures following.

We used Stillmotion for our wedding photography and they’re AMAZING but pricey. I’d also highly recommend Lisa Mark, she did my boudoir shots, but I absolutely love her wedding photography. A friend of mine used Jeremy Clay and their photos were gorgeous too 🙂

We used Trayc Dudgeon for our wedding in August and she was fantastic. She had a variety of packages and we went with exactly what you’re looking for… a CD of high res images. She even sent us a card at Christmas time with a tree ornament she had made up with one of our wedding pix in a wee frame.
She has a few of our photos on her blog if you want to go have a look. And here’s the ornament she sent to us – pretty cute, eh?
