I think that if you have room, it’s nice to be able to have baby in carrier in the chair. But if you dont have room, I think it’s fully acceptable to assume the baby can stay in the stroller.

We had 6 children at our wedding and we arrange for high chairs/baby seats. I have been at other weddings where they placed the children on a table in a quiet area at the back of the reception area where there was plenty of room for strollers. So I think both scenarios can work here.

This made me laugh – sorry. But no! Babies are either in a sling or in a carrier. No chair necessary 🙂

I would get the high chairs that carriers can be put into. It isn’t necessary but would be nice to have more room, especially if the table is full there wouldn’t be much room for a carrier on the ground.

@jennygrl070:  If there’s no high chairs just leave a little extra space at the tables for the under 6 month olds. Say a table holds 10, put 9 people there instead + carrier. One year olds should have high chair or booster seat, I wouldn’t want to hold them all dinner.

This was a pet peeve at the last family wedding.  Parents brought their gigantic stroller into the hall,  then shoved it up sideways to the table and took out two other guest spots.  The baby was in a bucket seat snapped into the stroller but they did not want the bucket on the floor nor balanced on a chair.  The parents  wanted the stroller.   So some bad planning on the seat assignments because it was assumed that tiny baby could be in bucket sort of carrier and placed quietly at parents feet and not need any space.   The other guests who were blocked  were reseated,   the baby acted up and the  parents left, leavings three people then sitting at an empty table.

Another parent dragged in their toddler car seat and tried to put it on a chair.  The hall didn’t have high chairs.  They ended up leaving too.   Children were welcome at the reception but I think someone forgot to tell the hall.

i know it is not nice to be stuck in a baby and toddler section at a wedding, but that would have been a better seating plan, with kids together, a space left for the stroller contraption, and close to the door for quick exits.
