I've given this a lot of thought.  I would hands down be a dolphin.  What is happier and has more fun than a dolphin??

So random, I know.  But I'm bored!

A bird. One that can go long-distance quickly. Then I would get to experience flying, and also going to countries etc that I want to visit.

Oooh, these are all good ones.  Never thought about choosing a bird as a vehicle for seeing foreign countries!!

@Aure: Hahah I figure a weekend would be enough time to really 'experience' what it was like to be the animal, hahah!

If that one doesn't count, I'd definitely be my dog for a weekend.

I'd want to be a dog too...only so I could figure out what my dog is trying to tell us when he "talks" to us!  (and because he is one spoiled rotten puppy!!)

A cat which is ironic because I loath cats, but I have to admit they have pretty good arrangement worked out with humans.  They eat, sleep and thats about it.  Oh, and when they are in a bad mood no one considered it abnormal.  I would love to eat, sleep, and hiss at people all day.

I agree with the people that chose their animals.

I would definitely be my cat. He has such a great life. We like to tease that he is living in his "retirement kitty condo" because he was my family pet, 16 years old, and I took him when I moved in with FI because he just wasn't get the attention he needed from my parents (they had 4 large dogs!)

He lives like a king here.

If I had to choose a wild animal, I would probably be a giraffe.

This question was actually asked of me at a job interview for a chiropractic office I was at many years ago. I said "housecat" and was looked upon very scornfully. I changed my mind to "giraffe" and the interviewer seemed to take a kinder attitude to that answer.

    I digress. I'd be a bird...one that doesn't eat bugs and worms ;)

@Eight6Eleven: Ohhhh those psychology questions are so stupid.

I'm sure if any one of us were to answer in an interview we would say something like "dolphin" or "chimpanzee" or something to make us sound like smart leaders. But nope, in reality, I'm sure all of us would love to be lazy house cats.Wink

I was once asked on a job interview what color Skittle I would choose to be. I had no respect for the company (it turned out to be a direct marketing company) and I said none, I hate Skittles. Such a dumb question.

I'd be a bird, too, but only for the flying.

ETA: And I don't want to be something lame or ridiculous like a flamingo or a chicken, haha.  I'm thinking a falcon or something awesome and fast that can soar instead of flapping around all the time.

Ooh, what a fun question. I'd love to be our new fish (Henry). I want to know if they really forget so fast, or if that's just goldfish. And I want to know why he redecorates his tank, and what he's thinking when he watches me get dressed in the morning, because I swear, the sits there and stares until I'm dressed. Creepster Henry.

Excellent point about choosing to be your pets!! I would also have to agree that my very-close-second option would be our labrador, Cooper.  He also has 'the life'.  Spoiled, sweet, wants for nothing, loves unconditionally and is happier than anything in the world just to see us walk in the room.  Also, I talk to him ALL the time, so I'm sure he's far from lonely.  There are so many mornings when FI and I wake up at  6 am for work, look at Cooper in his dog bed (squinting at us because we had the nerve to turn the light on!) and tell him "omg we'd kill to be you today Cooper...all you have to do is go pee, eat breakfast, and go right back to sleep!"

Either one of my pets- my cat lays around all day and sleeps, except when she wants to come bother us. It would be nice to get to sleep as much as she does, and to be as comfortable as she usually is.

My cockatoo is just a complete a-hole, haha.  I think it would be fun to just scream and holler and act like I am the king of all before me for a weekend and be fed all kinds of unhealthy and delicious things.
