Ok for a June wedding (strawberry season) that's vintagem casual themed (lace and birdcages in the decor) which favour would you want to go home with?

As cute as bird salt and pepper shakers sound, I think it'd be a waste because most people already have those.

    I <3 jam

    Birdseed is second for me.

I don't use birdseed (live in a condo)

I already have salt and pepper shakers

More jam is always good though! And a cute idea for a summer wedding.

I honestly don't really like any of them.  I'd probably not take one if those were the three options.

    (1) I already have salt and pepper shakers.  My theme in my house isn't white or bird, so it wouldn't fit, anyway.
    (2) Not a huge fan of jam.  I probably use a tablespoon once every other month.  So, it would either get left or tossed.
    (3) I live in an apartment.  So the birdseed thing wouldn't work for me at all, and would either get left or tossed as well.

Those salt and pepper shakers sound so cute, though to be honest I wouldn't use them.

The jam however sounds yummy and I would use it. Go with that.

Even though I don’t like jam, I’d go for that just because it’s edible. Guests almost always prefer something edible to some useless chotchzkie (sp? too lazy to look it up). The s&p shakers may sound good in theory but how many people are actually going to use them? Anyone with a home already has these things that match their own style/décor. Hate to say it but I’d almost guarantee that you’d be left with a lot at the end of the night.

My brother had tiny jars of jam and honey at his wedding. Keep them small and give a couple options instead of just one kind of jam.

I don't know about anybody else..but whenever I see litte salt & pepper shakers shaped as anything...I just fall in love...lol! Especially with your theme (lace & bridcages)...I just think little white ceramic bird shaped salt & pepper shakers would be so cute! I mean I know everyone has them...but how nice would it be to have a 2nd set to use at parties, etc!!

yeah I'll admit the salt and pepper shakers are something I would love, and I'm trying to keep an open mind because not everyone will like what I do.  Jam just seems hard to do!

I like the salt and pepper shakers but I dont understand how you'll be able to give out one per couple. will the favors be at their place settings?

The salt and pepper birds SOUND adorable, and if I saw them as a favor at a wedding I would seriously love them, but I probably wouldn't use them and they'd just take up space in my house until I threw them away.  I would love jam though! (that's what I voted for)

I would go for the edible favor. I already have salt and pepper shakers and I wouldn't be able to use birdseed.

@bells:  yes I was planning on putting them on their place settings as part of the setting for the whole table...the reason I thought they tied in is bc part of my decor is small white ceramic animals on the tables and kind of interspersed in the general decor.  I'll also have milk-glass on the tables

I voted jam even though I probably wouldn't eat it, I think its the most universally liked of the three. What about chocolate covered strawberries? I like your seasonal idea. You could put them in candy bags & tie with a ribbon that incorporates your theme/colors.

I would go for the jam.  I'm also in an apartment, so I would have zero use for the birdseed, and the S&P shakers, as cute as they sound, are just a space waster and dust collector.

Even people who live in an apartment or condo could tie up a birdseed thing in a tree near them or in someone elses yard.  If it's what I'm thinking it is, it would all bio degrade except for the ribbon :)  I think that sounds really great (and pretty "green" too)

I thought of chocolate covered strawberries as well and will probably have them in some way, but I'm worried they'll melt and get all messy in the cellophane.  Have any of you tried this?

Keep it under 3 ounces for the out of town guests. I had leave behind my jar of honey because I couldn't carry it onto the plane.

Yep, my jam jar favors came in yesterday. Here's a pic (sorry so big)

More info: They're 1.5oz homemade Strawberry Jam Jars. I'm getting a sticker to put on top that says spread the love, our wedding date, and initials. Got them off of etsy of course!
