I am sick in bed today and although I love my job (middle school science teacher) I have found myself daydreaming about my *dream job* Which is what you may ask.......
I would love to quit my job and open up my own craft store one day. I would knit, crochet, sew, and be crafty in general all day.
What about you guys?
oo craft store would be fun!
I'd love to have a small little cafe/art gallery. During the day - a nice coffee shop and such and have it transform come night time into a wine bar with different types of eats. There would be live music on the weekends ... and there'd be plenty of space to play and have fun - craft nights would have to ensue!
I would definitely drop everything to be a professional voice actress. I've wanted to be one since I was a toddler, not even kidding! I used to read my Cinderella storybook out loud and use different voices for all the characters.
I would go back to school to be a BAKER!! I LOVE baking and love art and I think that would be one of my favorite ways to express my love for both... dreaming of pretty little cupcakes and cakes <sigh>
Maybe someday?!
I guess for now, I can practice in my kitchen with my Kitchenaid :)
I would travel the world and become either a travel writer or write a book based on my various adventures (think: Eat, Pray, Love).
I would work at an animal shelter. I volunteer now, but I can't do it that often. Plus, the animal shelter I work at is so horribly organized, and I know I could make it better! I'm such a big advocate for animal rescue and adoption and I would love to do it every day :o)
travel writer for sure. and then i'd have one of those fancy cooking blogs on the side. :)
Own my own marketing/design business and work from home! My ultimate goal....
I'd be famous. LOL, No really, I know it sounds ridiculous but ever since I was little I've wanted to be in movies or television. I also think I'd rock at voice over stuff. I've planned out entire movie scripts in my head with what actors I'd cast, costumes, props, soundtracks, full story lines, everything. Clinically, there's probably a name for it (delusional?) but I just like to think of it as wishful thinking ;)
Hmm, interesting question on a Friday afternoon...I would be a professional game show contestant. JK...I've always wanted to be a photographer.
I would start my own photography business. I currently do family, seniors portraits on the side, but it would be fun to jump in with both feet full-time.
If I wasn't doing that, I would probably run animal rescue or something like that:)
I would volunteer, do photography, mission work and what ever else I could find time to do maybe design or help people plan their weddings.
I've wanted to be an actress or singer..i love singing , i took voice lessons when i was a kid ..and i think i plan on singing to my honey at our reception....Its either that ..or go and buy my island ( i have pics of islands all around my cubicle so ppl tease me about it ..lol ) :)
I'd love Samantha Brown's job (travel channel)!
& gidgett, I'd totally love to be a voice actress, too! The other day at work, I met a guy that used to work at Burbank and was in charge of character voice integrity for Disney - he had to ensure every country's version of Mickey and crew were consistent!
If there were no limits and this was truly a dream thing, I'd open a Christian dance club... As a teen i've always wanted to have a place to hang out in a "good" enviorment. When I got older it was harder cause i'm not into the bar scene so I thought this would be a great alternative.
I'd be a novelist. I love to write, and I think I may have taken a wrong turn when I went to law school. (Who really wants to be a lawyer, anyway?)
My absolute dream job would be to do fine art photography. I don't want or need to be famous... I'd just like to spend my time taking pictures I love and be able to make enough selling them to support myself.
Would love to be an actress..... I do shows in community theatre and love love love it. Too bad I can't get paid for it!!!! Well, I guess a lot of people DO get paid for it, I'm just too set in my "normal" life to ever take such a risk! I swear, if I could live off of it, I would work all day and night and love every minute of it. Instead, I'm here.....counting down......one hour and 4 minutes......
Anything creative! I hate my job right now because it is very technical and zaps my creative juices. I would love to open a dessert bar or bakery or some kind of knitting store. Or maybe I would become an organization consultant for people.
Travel writer! Or um... an event planner, but I'm too lazy to ever get into that.
After all this wedding planning...I wouldn't mind being a wedding planner or an ETSY seller of my crafts!! Haha, thats cheesy, but true!
I'd love to be a graphic designer. Wedding invitations, birth announcements, party invites. I wish my current job was more fulfilling. One day...
i quit my job and became an event designer stay at home mommy and although i'm broker than i have ever been in my life, i'm also happier!!
I'd be a writer!
...Oh wait. I am doing that. How about I quit being a full-time student, magically earn a degree, and win Mega Millions, so I can *really* get started with the writing? :D
Loving this thread! I would love to be a pro-blogger. It seems SO cool...if only I could think of a topic that isn't overdone already...?
Establish and run an animal sanctuary.
Like www.bestfriends.org. and even www.animalsanctuaryuk.com.
like shaema said, you can try half.com. i use campusi.com [i think it's now dealoz.com or something like that...either way it redirects to where it's supposed to go] and it collects prices from every seller that offers it so it's super easy to compare prices. i really wish i knew about this when i was in undergrad! though it's been a help with my grad school books.
I would love to own a business with my future hubs :) that is our plan one day...I want something I can pass to my family, that we can make out own, that is long and hard work but worth it because it is ours and exactly what we want...
I LOVE the idea of the craft store as well, that would be my mom and my dream !
I really just want to be a stay at home mom until our future kids are in school.
But if I have to pick a job it would be modeling. I love being in front of the camera and trying new poses and ideas on shoots.. I do a little bit now with local fashion shows and contests, but around here it is hard to make any money at it.
I have so many things I want to do once I am done with work (which I get to be if I can get pregnant in 2 years!).
The first passion I have is to make baskets - no, I don't weave them, I line them, fill them with personalized goodies, warp them up pretty (not in that crappy plastic) and sell them. I LOVE doing this - I get to use my heart along with my brain to design them, I usually do baked goods in them in some way and while I don't take compliments well, everyone loves them.
If I could leave my job and be rich while doing it, I would go to school to become a pastry chef - I want to learn how to make wedding cakes and fun things and just make cakes for brides who want something pretty but who can't afford a $5000 cake! I'd do all sorts besides weddings too.
Anything to keep me in the kitchen baking and making fun things!
Indipendently wealthy! I dont' want to have to pick a career and do the same thing all the time. I just want to do whatever the heck I feel like and be a jack (jane?) of all trades.
Now THAT is wishful thinking.
I would be the highest paid most beautiful super model! Wait ... would this dream magically make me into a super model too? Ha!
Wow, so much talent and creativity in here!
For me, I'd get my PhD in sociology and work on being a wedding photographer.
open a bridal salon.....i used to work for David's Bridal and I totally loved it...would love to own one.
