what would it be? whether it's chiavari chairs, a videographer, a band, a designer dress... something that you're not having but would love to have.
when we first got married, i would have said a lighting designer. but looking back now it'd be a videographer. what about you?
Definitely a videographer. I'm bummed I didn't get a live record of the day.
out of the world delicious food! food is so expensive and though our initial priorities included good food and good music, we had to settle for a place that was just decent but was able to work with our funky requirements...
I would have loved to be able to afford a live swing band, but in retrospect the DJ was perfectly fine.
I wish I could have a designer/planner with all costs included. My biggest worry is that all my ideas won't fit together will and things will look unorganized.
I wish we could afford to upgrade all of our rentals (chairs, linens, place settings). I know that would make a huge difference in the appearance of our reception, and make everything seem much mure posh and polished.
I did splurge on my band and my photographer but if money was no object I would've picked a sweet venue! We changed our wedding colors a few times because it just didn't work with the place we had it at!
Tickets for friends. I have several friends who I know can't afford to make it and I would love to be able to pay their airfare.
Our biggest splurge is the venue, which includes ceremony and reception with food. The location was the most important part, and we found a great one. We think the view alone will make it totally worth it!
Move our venue to Disneyland. Like IN the park. That would up our budget about 10x (no joke).
More realistically, a videographer..less realisticly...StillMotion as the videographer, lol
Other than that, lighting, not worrying about the cost of the dress (I wouldn never go insane, it would jsut be nice to be able to shop at Alfred Angelo type stores and not look at the price tag)
Ooooh! Flying in Still Motion... that's for sure!!! *Goes back to dreaming.*
Definitely a videographer. I'd say photography, but that's already something that I'm not willing to compromise on. Everything else will be just a blur (details etc), but the photographs and video are what lasts.
I would hire StillMotion. No doubt. I cry at their work! I won't even watch the SDEs they post if anyone else is home...
Videographer. Also my "biggest regret". Do it ladies, get a videographer. I'd take a crappy one at this point.
Oh, if I could only go back in time (and had a lot of extra money to spare) I would have totally splurged on a high end photographer AND videographer! And lighting... chiavari chairs... better linens... more flowers! Err, did you only ask for ONE thing? haha
StillMotion! Hands down! Their work is amazing! I am still trying to find a way to get them to do my wedding!
My fiancee and I are having a super-budget wedding, so there are several. I think a videographer, a ridiculously gorgeous location here in Atlanta, or phenomenal rentals (chairs, linens, lanterns) would be at the top of the list, if we were splurging! :)
Ohhh chiavari chairs! A professional florist. My MOH is incredibly talented and recently started her own floral design studio so she's doing our flowers. But it's adding a ton of stress to the wedding schedule. A professional videographer. And purple custom printed M&Ms. Silly yes, but something I want that isn't in our budget. I'm sure once it's over there will be a thousand things I will wish for.
In this order...
1. A wedding planner!
2. Lighting
3. Unlimited dress budget
4. Still motion
5. Unlimited floral budget
I would want our venue to be decked out in professionally done flowers...insde and out!
I would love to be able to invite more people to our reception. We have a lot of friends who don't make the cut because we both have such big families. Our closest friends will be there, but there are so many who didn't make the cut because of cost.
I said photographer, maybe even a team of them. Ialso asked my FI and he said venue - just think we could all have gone to Italy!
Piping and draping! That way the outdoor part of our wedding ceremony would have sheer fabric gently swaying in the breeze... and the receptioni would have just a few more elements of graceful taste. <~*sigh*~>
I'm lucky. My BFF is catering my wedding and i found a venue so i can byo the alcohol. so thus, cutting my food/alcohol budget by at least 60%. My big splurges are pictures - photog, videographer, photobooth, and live event artist :) I am doing lighting/drapery but not extensively, and found a mega good deal on chiavari's that i can't pass up :)
I would've gotten a wedding planner, a videographer, a different reverend and some lighting elements for the reception.
We would have done big elaborate centerpieces with tall vases of water and flowers inside the vases with floating candles on top.... unfortunatly, we didn't have the budget for that, so I DIY'd hurricane glasses filled with hazelnuts and a big pillar candle.
I would love to pay airfare and hotel guests for some family and friends.
If I could splurge on one thing it would be having another, more low-key wedding with a larger guest list: for extended family, acquaintances, classmates, coworkers and our church family.
But since I am not working, my fiancé and parents think this is excessive. What's better than celebrating twice to make sure EVERYONE you know is included?
(:
That's why it would be "splurging."
If we could splurge on one thing ti would be food. I'm talking 7 course, out of this world, different fork needed, food! Not all just fancy either . I'm all down with simple , just GOOD!
A high end photographer...I love the one we chose but if money were no object, we'd upgrade!
Extensive and gorgeous interior accents -- high-end tablecloths, beautiful fabrics draping from the ceiling, etc.
Our reception site itself is very classy, but how neat would it be to make it jaw-droppingly impressive?
Definitely a band. I'm doing an Ipod reception b/c I hate DJs and I am super picky about bands. Any of the ones we'd want to play either don't do weddings or would charge way too much.
