How tired his sorry butt would be at 8pm after he got up at 4:45am and went to work then the gym after. Then maybe he'd stop nagging me about why are you so tired all the time?
He'd realize that we don't TRY to be emotional, we just are!
Oh, and ... having cramps and a period SUCK!
How difficult a 2 year old can be when you have to take care of her 27/7
I would love my FI to understand how girls minds work. He always wonder how I can take nothing and make it into a huge deal... I try to tell him girls exaggerate everything but he doesn't get it. He doesn't understand that we are crazy! Haha!
You all seem to echo my thoughts on the emotional side of things. I cry at the drop of the hat, especially during my period, and I wish he could feel that!
@Running Elley: I totally get it! SO has a job where he is on his feet moving all day, so I get why he is tired. But sometimes, I think sitting in a desk for 8 hours without moving can be just as draining. I wish I could move around like he does!
Totally with you girls on the emotional thing. I would love for him to experience my sensitive or bad moods for just one day! I would love to ask him why he's upset and crying and him say, "Uh..I don't know!" and so he would finally understand I don't always have a reason to cry!!!!!!!!!!
Also would love to not have to style my hair or put on makeup each morning for work. :)
I agree with the OP--he'd learn how time-consuming it is for me to get ready every morning. And how obsessed w/ WB I am.
@runnerbeez:Thank you!!!! After I wrote that I felt like people would think I'm horribly insensitive lol.
I have to echo the emotional stuff too...so he could see sometimes when I'm PMSing I'm crazy but I can't help it!
Prob would rather trade places with him, I'm a freakish worrier nad he's so calm, would be nice to have my mind quiet for a day lol
Well, I'd want to trade on a day when he's not at work (he works 12 hour shifts). And this may be really really shallow. or crude, or something. But I think about this when we're camping. If I were a dude... peeing outside would be so much easier... I would have to test this if we traded places. *grin*
...okay. Am I the only one who would totally want to know what it's like sexually? Like if we swapped places I'd love to know what it's like for him...and vice versa.
@lola2011: No! I always say I want a penis for a week. Just to see what it's like! I try to get him to describe it...lol.
@teampike: haha! I do too. I'm like, doesn't it get in the way? Do you like, feel it every day? hah.
@lola2011: I'm the same, I think the weirdest feeling would be the balls, just to have them hanging there....ewww, haha!
How working from home is not like omg-the-awesome-est-thing-ever. I think it would take approximately 1 day of being home all by himself tied to the computer working to realize it is super lonely!
@teampike: Bahahaha. I've asked him to describe it for me as well.
That boobs are not all they are worked up to be. He probably wouldn't play with them all day like he said he would haha.
The EMOTIONS! Oh my goodness, I would love for him to experience that for one day. And periods, and how my mind can process a million bizarre things all at once. If I was him for one day, I'd really like to know what sex feels like for a guy...but then I guess I'd be having sex with myself??? Which would be very strange....
LOL, everyone always tells me I'm such a boy - I think it actually takes me less time to get out the door in the morning than it takes him. And I swear most days he's the emotional one.
He would learn what a pain in the butt it is to sit in traffic and navigate crowded parking lots and grocery stores at 6 PM. And how even though I work a lot less than he does, 8 hours of work + 1 hour of driving + errands + making dinner totally sucks up your free time.
For me, I think he would better understand how physically and emotionally tiring (but also very rewarding) my job as a nurse is. Sometimes he doesn't understand that because I get more "days off" in a row, how I could possibly be exhausted all the time. Really, only 2-3 of those days off I feel like a human being, after recovering from working 12 hour shifts, espeically night shifts. I would say this is a hurdle in our relationship. I would love for him to be in my shoes for a day!
@AnnieAAA: Seriously! Everyone makes such a big deal about penis envy, but I think it'd be weird to have organs flopping around.
@Entangled: Ditto. My DH takes way longer than me.
I have a bladder disorder so I think that's what he'd learn, how that feels for me.
I would DEFINITELY want to hook up with him though. Well, I think. I would want to know what it feels like. But then you'd be having sex with yourself. WEIRD!!!!
@Valhalla: Night shift is an evil succubus. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I am not a nurse, but I work in patient placement at a hospital on night shift. It so exhausting. I'm returning to the land of the day walkers soon though!

If you could trade places for a day with your SO, what would they learn about you?
I think my SO would learn that 'getting ready' for women is such a pain! I would love to just get a shower and head out the door like he does.
So what would your SO learn?
