I've lived in LA, NY, and SF (well Berkeley anyway).
If I didn't live in Manhattan, I think I'd want to live in Europe. Perhaps Italy. I've never been there, but I'm obsessed with Under the Tuscan Sun. I wouldn't mind something like that. ![]()
What about you?
Id live in Italy... my roots.
But, somewhere hot would be nice too... i hate snow
SW Virginia. Still has the four seasons but shorter winters. But I have tenure at the college where I teach so I guess I won't be moving out of the area anytime soon.
Seattle! I love the weather and the cooler temps than here in LA. Plus....CA is seriously falling apart right now, if sales taxes go up one more time this year ::shakes fist at sky::
I love living in St. Petersburg, FL. I never want to live outside of Florida. I did for college and, well...I'm a Florida girl. The only other place I would want to live is in my fiance and my hometown - Venice, FL. Absolutely paradise.
I live in a medium-sized nice town about 30 minutes from my hometown- I moved there for college, and share a house there with FI. But, after we're married (a couple years later) we want to move to the incredibly small rural town I grew up in that is just outside of a major city. We'll live on my parent's farm (350 acres, we'll be on the other side of it!) and build a small, stone English/French-style cottage! Since I work for Dad, I'm in close proximity to our workplace, and I have plenty of space to keep my garden, my bees, and some chickens :) But we're close enough to a large city to make FI happy! Perfect! :)
hmmm....italy (loved under the tuscan sun also mrs. bee!), paris, london, hong kong, sydney, nyc, sf, argentina, chile............everywhere basically! i love to experience new cultures and immerse myself in them.
Hmm, that's tough, but probably LA or NY, I love all the perks of big city living!
I've always dreamed about living in Hawaii. It seems so tropical and so soothing.
Savannah, GA to be with my love when he returns from Iraq, until next May, when he's free from the Army :) Then-New Orleans; South Beach; Philadelphia :) I love those places for some reason!
we lived in London for two years and have been in the DC for the last 15 months, but after my FI finishes grad school I could definitely see us moving back to London or to Cape Town (we met in South Africa while we were both living there for a year).
Kiawah Island, SC or Woodstock, VT. I adore both places and I love smal-town life.
I would really like to like in Australia :) but Califronia sounds good now :P
I love living near Philly, but if not here then of course on the Jersey shore! Although, Ireland is beautiful!
I live in Ireland but if I wasn't marrying a man from here I'd move home to Connecticut in a heartbeat.
San Francisco! I took a year off from college and moved there when I was 19, and I loved it so much. Don't think that's in the plan, though...
Oh! I miss my homwtown, San Diego!! It is definitely not Michigan.
I also love Seattle.
@arineya.... My grandma's boyfriend raises bees. I always thought it would be fun!
I've lived in and around Atlanta, GA for most of my life with the exception of the past two years spent in DC. FI and I have talked about living out west (Colorado, Oregon, Washington) or heading a little farther south (Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA). I'd be game for any/all of those. :D
I live in Orlando, and though the winters are great...summer is BLARGH! And I am NOT a big fan of driving. With that said...I wish that, in the future, me and FH will live somewhere with 4 seasons and better public transportation.
Somewhere with no traffic, a big city, affordable to live, warm (not hot) in the summer, cool (not cold!) in the winter, a beach nearby, a pool in our backyard, and lots of delicious food. Yeah, probably somewhere overseas for me too!
Otherwise, I'd love to live on the east coast somewhere. we lived in savannah for awhile and I did love it down there. Virginia's on my list. Not that we'll ever move away from St Louis, but oh well.
I've always wanted to live near the ocean, preferably in New England so I can still have snow in the winter! Or I'd like a cabin in the mountains somewhere. Or on a farm within a short driving distance of either the beach or the mountains. I'm a snow lover so as long as the season change, I'm not too particular.
However, I'd love to spend a year or two in Italy. I've never been but it looks so beautiful and it's where my mom's family is from. Under The Tuscan Sun is one of my favorite movies too!
I know this isn't where most people would want to go but I would love to live near my family. I am only 1.5 hrs away right now but it is far enough to miss out on the things I would love to see, like my niece and nephew growing up or Sunday dinners with the entire fam. That is what I want the most. My family!
I love where we live now and don't want to move. However, if we had to, I'd maybe move to Boston, where my best friend lives. As a rule, I'm not a real "big city" kind of person, but I like Boston's vibe a little more than other cities I've visited.
London! But only if I won the lottery, it's so darned expensive! I love the city and every mintue I've spent there.
I moved to Chicago right after college and Mr. Mike has lived here his whole life. One day when we're less attached to our jobs I'd like to build a home outside of Annapolis, MD on a big wooded lot on the water. It's about an hour from my parents, whereas now we have to fly to see each other. I also would love to live for a brief time in Italy, somewhere like Tuscany or the Amalfi Coast, where the weather is amazing, the scenery breathhtaking, and life is so much more relaxed.
If I didn't live in NYC, I would looove to live in Hawaii. FH and my careers aren't very conducive to that, unfortunately.
I live in NYC too (holla!) unfortunately I despise it. Ideally and realistically Id like to move back to Annapolis, MD. In my dream world, Italy. Though (shhh) it might be a reality with FH possibility of a transfer!!!! woohoo!
My dream is to retire in Italy...spent a semester abroad there in college and without a doubt it was the best 3 1/2 months of my life.
I'd love to live in the Bay area, it's one of my favorite places in the US.
FI and are are in NYC now, which is fun at this point in our lives but down the road a few years we want house, yard, kids, dogs, etc. and NYC is just not the place for that. So we are thinking Providence, RI right now. That is the realistic and most probably choice. In fantasy land, though, we would live in Rome with a house on the Amalfi Coast. Alternatively, I'd love to live in London or Paris.
If I didn't live in Maryland and I didn't have to pick a location for a job (and I had gobs of money) I'd move to Hawaii. I'm in LOVE with volcanos (I can't explain it) and I've always wanted to live in Hawaii... of course I wouldn't buy a house on/near a volcano because I couldn't deal with the posiblity of it burning down. :(
I love Seattle, and I'd love to move there. Or New Orleans - my hometown.
But for now, NYC is nice.
We want to move back home to TX!!! My dream would be a home on a few acres, just right outside of San Antonio. I went to college in SA, and I love the spirit and culture of the city!
There aer sooo many place I would choose to live other than here. It is nice here but nebraska is not my favorite. But I will say the people here are awesome and the ranch life is the best!!!
In the us:
Jacksonhole, WY
montana
central oregon closer to my friends
out of the us:
australia
ireland
germany
I would live in portland, oregon! That whole city is wonderful, full of foodies and chefs....my kind of town! However, it's so far from my support system. I would really miss my friends and family. But maybe one day when we're older my future husband and I will retire there.
