Director of Ceremonies?  The B&B manager runs the show for us for free in our case. but you can ask a family member with the help of a DJ to keep your event on track.

We had 16 people at our wedding and did not have a DOC. There really wasn’t any point.

Nothing, and I didn’t hire one. I had my in-laws help and a close family friend took over as my DOC for free because she wanted to help and everything was awesome. Just enlist some friends. We had 50 people total. 52 if you include us. NBD.

elliptical2013:  Oh lol. I didn’t have one in my first wedding day and won’t have one this time either. I’m not sure what they would have to coordinate…

I haven’t had my wedding yet, but I have a DOC. So far, she’s been great. She created a timeline for our wedding and she’ll contact all my vendors April 1st. She will also contact them again the week before. She’s also in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly and online as well as decorating the ceremony venue. She will also be greeting my guests.

I’m having forty guests at our wedding. I paid her $300 and will pay her $200 on the day of. She’ll also have an assistant with her who will be me the entire time. I was quoted between $500 and $1800 for a DOC. The large companies are much more expensive and don’t work with smaller weddings and budgets, so don’t get discouraged if your search is difficult. Just keep looking and be upfront and honest about your wedding and budget.

I didn’t want to worry about things on my wedding day, also, with such a small wedding I didn’t want to ask family or friends to “work”. I want my guests and family to enjoy themselves, not worry about transporting and setting things up.

elliptical2013:   Haven’t had my wedding yet, but it will be small ( ~50 guests) and our DOC charges 1,800.   It’s on the high end, but she is great to work with, pays attention to our wishes and has relieved me of stress.
