We have two somewhat smaller registries – about 40 things at BBB and 20 at Amazon. Our wedding is in a month and I can’t believe how much has been bought up off of them! Especially all the expensive stuff. People seem to e gravitating more to BBB, so we shifted a few things over there.
We invited 205 and 120 are coming. Our intent was 1) To make it easy on those who want to give a physical gift 2) To try and avoid getting 100 frames that say “True Love” 3) To give an indication that we don’t need much since we have an established household.
My showers are this Saturday and March 23rd, but only about 10 people each. We currently have about 15 things left on each registry, mostly cheaper things.
If you had a small registry, did it run out before the wedding? our crowd is about half and half – I suspect half like to give physical presents (Southern folks) and about half will likely give cash (Northerners).

I am curious about this as well

My firiend liked it a lot because they registered for what the NEEDED and the guests bought out the registry. The rest just gave cash. And a few bought them some nice (useful) gifts that they didn’t realize they wanted until they had them.
I’m going for a “smaller” registry as well, I’m registered for 72 items. A lot of the items are smaller items, like I registered for certain types of cheaper single bowls, mugs, plates, etc…as singles.

We have a small registry at BBB. Four gifts have been purchased off of it, and they were all given to me yesterday at my work shower. My wedding is in 9 days and no guests purchased a gift off of it. I think some people will give cash, but I think most people will give no gift at all. I will update after my wedding to let you know how it turned out.
We registered for about 35 things of various prices, and I have gotten a lot of crap from people about how they don’t like the options available bc they are “boring”. It isn’t price either bc there are a lot of gifts under $20. Be prepared to defend your decision to have a small registry bc everyone has an opinion.
