If you had tiny bridesmaids, where did you get dresses?

If I remember correctly, bridal/BM dress sizes run small so a BM David’s Bridal size 2 may fit a street size 0.

Or you could always get dresses from a store like Banana Republic which has lots of cute dresses in petites as well as regular sizes.

Laurenplusalex:  Do you have Le Chateau where you live? That’s a great store for dresses, and they carry XXS -XXL. I’m small myself, I can’t even buy dresses at lots of stores and I fit an XS there. It’s awesome. I can try the smaller size if I want! Most stores I try the smallest size, and if it’s too big I just leave. 🙁 I’m very lean and pretty much flat chested.

Anyhoo, a few more stores to try, that carry size 0 and fit like 0:

-Banana Republic

-French Connection (FCUK)

-Armani Exchange

But for teeny tiny dresses, nobody beats Le Chateau.

Laurenplusalex:  Agree with PP, formal dresses run small. Have them try them on before ruling them out. The cut of the dress will make a difference too.

I also have a preteen bridesmaid, who is normally a 0, and she ended up being a size 6 in the Kennedy Blue line. We found Davids Bridal to run larger and closer to street size than other bridal lines.

Agreed, I wear a 00 petite and ordered a size 4 for the wedding I was in last summer as a bridesmaid. The 2 would have fit fine except I have a larger chest, so the 2 would probably fit your bridesmaids. I had to alter the length, though.

A friend is in a wedding this fall.  She usually wears a size 2.  The size 2 from David’s Bridal is big on her- she needs alterations.  THey told her she would ba a size 0 if DB made 0.  So I would have them try it on- you never know- but don’t count on it.

My MOH is a size zero and we just bought a dress from the same salon where I bought my wedding dress (not David’s Bridal). Her dress brand was Bari Jay.

Bridesmaid dress sizes do run much smaller than street sizes, so my guess is a two would work.  For the pre-teen bridesmaids, I would look into junor bridesmaids dresses.  I don’t think David’s does too many of them, but other popular brands often carry gowns in both junor and regular sizes.

I have bridesmaids that range from a 00 to a 30, and I bought their dresses at David’s.  They all look amazing (and even more important, they all FEEL amazing, which is the most important thing).  The two tiny girls (one is a 0 and the other a 00) had them altered at a local seamstress (I paid for their alterations) and it was about $80 total for the two dresses.

My choice is custom made. My sister’s dresses are all custom made by a etsy shop. And the shop name is 21 4ever. The shop owner can custom made any dress that you show them. It is very great and the dresses turn out to be amazing!
