I’m actually currently looking for a new e-ring since the one I have is too loose and I want something I can buy with a matching wedding band (my taste/idea of what I want in a ring has changed since we bought the original e-ring).

Current ring:

I currently have a 3 stone ring, which is what I’ve always wanted. The center is diamond, and the sides are sapphires. If I were to switch, it would be to an all-diamond solitaire halo. Possibly split shank, with diamonds down the band. Haha, specific, I know, but they’re the only rings I see that make me feel a little ring-envy. 🙂

2nd runner up: (but I think I wouldn’t like it to go all the way around and under my finger, just the diamonds on top and on the sides)

I absolutely love my ring, but if I was forced to change, I’d go with a canary diamond.

And this is what i would get instead, but with a smaller center stone (1.25-1.5)

I currently have a 1 ct solitaire, which is exactly what I wanted 🙂

If I changed it, I’d get a pear with a teensy tiny halo and a split shank (actually, I totally plan to have this in a gemstone one day as an anniversary ring :))

@sweetpea87: This is exactly the same for me. I currently have a 3 stone (and always wanted one!), but the halos with blingy split shanks make me sooo jealous!

Part of it may be size differences too. My ring is total .5 karats (.25k center and .12/.13 sides), and I’d love some more bling. (That’s what eternity bands are for, right??)

Of course, I’d never switch it for anything.  One of the side stones belong to FI’s great grandmother, and that aspect alone makes me adore it, let alone that he took the time to design it, etc.

I too love my engagement ring:

Bbut if I had to change (aka what i’ll be getting as a RHR one of these days) it would be one of these two rings:

Pink sapphire and pink moissanite in a halo three stone setting:

Cushion amora gem in a milgrain pave setting like this:

I would not want to change mine, but if I had to, I would actually keep the diamond and go for a plain white gold band, not too thick or too thin, and then get a super diamondy shared setting wedding band!

@kateb0293: Just wish we could afford it 🙁 It’s currently half off at $2300 right now which is still lightyears out of our price range. *sigh* My hope is that it’ll continue to be popular/stocked for a while so the next time a sale comes around we can afford it. I’d probably get a very simple eternity band to go with it (or possibly just plain).

If I absolutely had to get a different type of ring, I would probably go for a very uniquely cut stone in a simple split shank setting.

ETA: Oh, and my current ring is in my profile pic.
