Hi Bees!
I just joined this morning after lurking for a couple weeks.
Anyway, I knew he had ordered my ring a few weeks ago, and I know which one it is (I picked it out three years ago). It's totally not a surprise which one he picked.
I got told to stay out of his underwear drawer when I was putting away laundry today.
I'm not going to sneak a peek at it, but it's just sooooo tempting knowing where it is and that he has it.
I knew where it was and half opened the box, but I couldn't look at it.
Of course I would've!! I snooped thru his phone and knew he had made phone calls to a diamond distributor..sooo.. I checked his drawers a few times lol I never actually found it and now I'm kinda glad I didn't because seeing it for the first time when he propsed was priceless =)
I would definately look at it, and I would probably also try it on!!!
I found my ring in the house in its little white box. I was overwhelmed with joy and imediatly went to open it. but iwas good and didn't because I knew that the day was coming very soon and I would be even more suprized by not knowing what it looked like.
Well, after he told me he would be proposing in two weeks, I showed him the ring I want. So I wouldn't feel bad to look at it if it were here. I saw it first!
With gifts in the past he has told me that if I found them then I could have them- I've only found a gift once.
That said I think I would work very hard at not going to look for it, I want him to give it to me.
If he took way to long, probably. I would feel ridiculously guilty afterwards though so maybe knowing that would deter me.
No. I found the valuation certificate in his car and didn't go looking (lucky for me since he kept it at work anyway!) I would be incredibly tempted and might even start looking but I don't think I'd follow through. Partly because I didn't want to ruin the surprise and partly because it would feel like something of a betrayal to him - he wants it to be a surprise and taking that away from him in secret doesn't seem fair to me.
I would try not to look at it. I would really prefer not to know if it was even here.
i totally would... sorry I just know I would lol. I wish I knew where he was hiding it so I could take a peek!!!
I wouldn't want to, but I have NO willpower when it comes to that kind of thing. I still sneak around the house looking for the stash of presents at Christmas time too, so I think it's in my nature, haha.
I would love to say no... but I think that if I found it I wouldnt be able to resist!
It would absolutely kill me but no. I might snoop for bday gifts or christmas gifts but I want everything about the proposal to be a surprise.
If I'd already picked out the ring, I probably wouldn't look....because I'd already know what it looks like.
If he bought a ring without us talking/shopping, I don't know if I'd be able to resist!!! But I'd feel guilty so I'd try not to snoop.
I'd make myself wait, but let's be honest, I would probably crack. My fiance and I don't live together so it wasn't an issue. :)
I am horrible with gifts/surprises!!!
I looked all over for it! Come to find out, he put it somewhere in plain sight that I just couldn't reach (I'm 5'4" he's 6'9") LOL
I told him that he needed to take it to his parents house because I would find it and would wear it! LOL. So yes I would look. Heck I had the picture saved on the computer and looked at it daily! :)
i voted yes because i actually DID look, haha. guys are sometimes not very sneaky.
I'd like to say I wouldn't look, but I know me too well. I have NO patience! I would definitely peek :-)
I don't think I could resist! He likes suprising me, but I never have the patience.
I knew where mine was, and it just about killed me, but I didn't look :)
I wouldn't snoop. It's easier for me not to snoop, since we are currently in a LDR. However, this past summer, I would go out and stay with him for a week or so at a time, and when he would go to work, it would be so easy for me to snoop. I was tempted a few times. However, I know he really wants to surprise me and I want to be surprised when he does it. That made it a little easier for me.
I would definitely look for it! That's probably why FI proposed on the day he got the ring instead of a month later like he originally planned, haha (though he said it was because he couldn't wait).
I have a little bit of a different response. I didn't look at teh ring even though I knew it was in the apartment, but only b/c I already knew what it looked like (not exactly, but I had the general idea). If we hadn't discussed rings and I knew it was in the house I would DEFINITELY look at it. Just to prepare myself in case it was not my taste or somehting, so I could monitor my response.
I would be REALLY tempted, but I would resist!
I would try to find the box, but I would try to resist the urge to look at it...
I flew down to visit FH this summer right in the middle of the ring process. The paperwork was still sitting in the car and the diamond was somewhere in the apartment. I knew he couldn't keep a secret so I just waited a day or two for him to spill the details (in the same what I know what my day-of gift will be.)
I was in this situation, and I didn't peek open the box, because we had picked it out together and I knew what it looked like.
But guess how long I had to wait between that day and the proposal? Almost 4 months!
