@Sapphire-Dreamer:  OMG I want to rewind back to my wedding and use the football to toss the garter!!! Of course, how did I not think of that?!? What a cute idea.

If you see my posts around here, you know DH and I are obsessed with football.

I don’t have pics of mine right now 🙁 but I will try to remember to post later tonight. It was much fun, though!

We did a bouquet toss, no garter though.  Ours was a little untraditional, we invited everyone (guys, girls, singles, couples, in-betweens, etc) to join us for the toss.  The person that caught the bouquet was awarded the title “Belle of the Brawl” for the evening and got a date night package (starbucks gift card, 2 movie tickets, concession gift card).  This is one of my fave pics

This is the bouquet and garter SO and I caught at the last wedding we went to. I didn’t go up to participate, but the bouquet basically landed at my feet (the bride did it right in front of our table and threw the flowers too hard), and who am I to turn down pretty flowers? So then I told  SO to go get the garter so it wouldn’t be awkward! lol

I really like the garter. The dog is UConn’s mascot, and the B&G, SO and myself all went to UConn!

I’m not anti-toss, I’m anti “Dragging-Me-Out-Of-My-Chair-By-My-Arm-And-Forcing-Me-To-Participate.” We will be doing a garter and bouquet toss 🙂 This is the garter he likes:

@Sapphire-Dreamer:

@waitingalongtime:  It was definitely a lot of fun, but I can’t take credit for the idea.  I actually read about someone here on WB that did it at their wedding.

I think this tradition is cute and can be fun! I ordered my toss bouquet off of Etsy and it was made with $20 of REAL money in origami roses. It was a huge hit because it gave the girls incentive to go for it for the $20!

@BeachBride2014:  Yea Huskies!! SO and I are both class of 2010, I have a history degree and he has a computer science degree. The bride was class of 2009, dual degree chemical engineering and German, the groom was class of 2008 computer science. In case you were wondering!!

What do you think of the new Husky logo? I don’t like that they changed the colors…doesn’t match the real Jonathan anymore!

@pineapplez17:  I’m not a fan of the rebranding.  While I do think the new “Husky” (aka Wolf)looks OK, it’s just not Jonathan for me.  It doesn’t look like the real Jonathan and it’s not the logo we won so many championships under.

Good luck on your planning, fellow UConn-er!
