Would you ask the owner about it?? I just took my dog out to pee. I have doggie bags attached to the end of the leash to use when she poos. It’s 10pm, she pees and we go to bed. A neighbor goes “that was #1 right?” I just said yep…and walked back up stairs. Seriously?? This is the 2nd time someone has said something, and honestly his wasn’t rude so I know I’m reacting poorly due to the first one who said something (another older gentleman, ha…no, older asshole, who proceded to ARGUE with me telling me my dog wasn’t just peeing and that I’m a bad person for not picking up after her…PLEASE OH DOG GURU TELL ME HOW TO PICK UP PEE!) I would never ever say something to a neighbor! The ONLY way would be if I could visually see the pieces of shit falling from the dogs ass and then I watch the person walk away from it. Then I might say “Do you need me to get you a bag to pick up after your dog?”
I can’t wait to be out of an apartment and into my own house.

I dunno.. maybe your neighbour has never owned a dog?
We can definitely tell if our dog is going to do #2 as you could see her tail acting like a pump handle. (Sorry, TMI.. but you get the idea!)

Don’t these people have anything better to do? Jeez, I’d be annoyed too!!!!!

I don’t say anything when I see it, even though I am a dog walker and it pisses me off that people are so lazy. I don’t have the guts to point out to them that they are doing something wrong when they obviously already know. I once had a guy yell at me to “Pick that shit up!” even though the dog was clearly lifting his leg to pee. But seriously, all the time I see piles of poop surrounding poop stands. You don’t even have to move to get a bag and throw it away. Why is that so hard?!?! Sorry for that rant lol.

Is your dog a female? Perhaps her feminine peepee squat resembles what a poopoo squat looks like and they asked. Personally I would not ask my neighbors if the dog pooped unless I noticed a pattern of them not picking up after their dog. I would say something like offering them a plastic trash bag if I noticed it again. Old people tend to sometimes become senile so don’t take it personally. One time my late grandmother convinced my mom a handsome, young gentleman with a shaved head was trying to sneak into my room when I was 19. Um I wish haha jk.

I wouldn’t care unless it was happening in MY yard.

@CestTresJolie14: yep she’s female. I totally get that if you don’t own a dog, it can be hard to tell what a female dog is doing. But I just can’t fathom asking someone! It’s rude and basically saying “just wanna make sure you’re not being a lazy irresponsible person”.
@Pinkmoon: oooo you reminded me! What if it was in your yard but you saw the person pick it up? My dog REFUSES to go to the bathroom in my mom’s yard when we’re visiting so she often ends up going in a neighbors yard. I pick it up completely but I always feel uncomfortable, unsure if I’m doing something wrong. Since I haven’t been on the other end of it, I don’t know if that’s bothersome or not.

If it happens in my yard, I will absolutely say something. I don’t mind dogs in my yard pissing or crapping, but if it craps, pick it up or it will find its way to your doorstep.

OMG this is so funny bc whenever my (female) dog pees and someone is around, I’m like.. “Crap, does it look like she’s pooping and I’m not picking it up??”
I don’t really care, no one has ever said anything to me, but someone reported us once to the front office and they sent us a ‘warning’ (they can’t do anything else bc they didn’t see it themselves), but I was pissed bc it never happened!
I would never say anything to anyone. If I was 100% certain it happened, I would tell my FI and tell him to tell the front desk or say something to them. I have a personal rule that I don’t talk to strangers, especially about something negative LOL.

Maybe there’s a very inconsiderate dog walker on your route and the people who are commenting are just tired of picking up after dogs, especially if they don’t have one!

@soontobemrsm11: what someone’s dog does on their own property is none of my business unless there is a noticeable smell issue or health issue because dog waste is NEVER picked up. If we are neighbors in an apartment complex, it’s still not my place to tell them anything. If I have a problem, I’d tell management.

it’s possible someone else is leaving poo in the yard and she’s been noticing it,… and maybe assumed it was you. Some people also just hate dogs and resent anything they do. : Sorry people are being jerks. Just go out with earphones on.

@AB Bride: I’m in an apartment and I’ll be honest, A LOT of people don’t pick up after their dogs! The complex’s maintenance guy even put in double the dog pick up stations and I will see dog crap literally 3 feet from the trash! It’s pathetic and disgusting and it totally angers me so I really get it! But I had bags ON. THE. LEASH. lol It’s like duh, I pick up after my dog. Go yell at all the people that obviously don’t.
Oh and this guy was helping his daughter or someone move in, he doesn’t live here.
@futuremrsk18: I’ve wondered that too! But I’m like, if anyone has a dog, they know the difference in squats lol

@HappySky7: good idea! big ole implied “do not talk to me” haha

@soontobemrsm11: But you aren’t you screw them. One day you’ll have a house of your own with a big yard and no annoying neighbors to harass you!
