and I had a spring-y feel to it during December would you think I was nuts??? I cannot buy anything and haven't really planned much. As some of you know our wedding was for Mar 22nd of this year but we had to push it back to Dec. Could have been in fall but still too dang hot here! I just love the whole idea of spring and whatnot. I thought winter colors would be cool but cannot get out of my spring mode. I cant push it back again. Id lose my deposit and have to re book!

Heck no, I would love it.  By Dec I am praying for spring so it would be awesome to get that warm fuzzy feeling when it is so cold outside.

I'd think it was a little odd. But ultimately I'm a huge believer in doing what you want to do for your wedding. If you like the theme and want to do it, do it!

As long as you weren't exspecting me to sit outside and have a picnic like it was a beautiful spring day in the dead of winter, then I say go with what you want. Of course, weather is a fickle thing, I planned my winter/Christmas wedding exspecting WINTER weather on 12/30. I had hot cocoa and cider as a focal point of my reception and it was 75 degrees the day of my wedding. I think some cheery spring in winter would be fun!

No the venue is a garden ceremony(picked bc my spring date at 1st) then inside is a garden reception. I mean its PHX but it can get a bit chilly.

If you were a guest at my wedding : wedding 0116 FXC6017inside reception example

If you were a guest at my wedding : wedding CAAEQY8Aoutside ceremony, will last bout 25 minutes. there are twinkle lights in the bushes all around inside and outside

I really love that middle reception picture, the sweetheart table.  That just feels so romantic and warm/fuzzy.  Yup, I would totally stick with that.  I also think that it matches your venue which I LOVE!

@sooner365:  The only thing I would say is make sure there is an easy back up for the ceremony, INSIDE somewhere. I am not totally sure what winter around you is like, but pretty much anywhere winter can be nice, or it can be miserable. And especially in winter, people won't really be exspecing an outside ceremony and while they may be attired for walking from the car to the building, that is different than sitting outside for 45 minutes to an hour, because no one shows up right at the start time.

The past winters have been fine. Like a long sleeve shirt for like 3 weeks. Thanksgiving was warm/mild and Xmas too actually. If it is crazy we can go inside for the ceremony. It doesn't snow here, its Phoenix haha! Its a small wedding, 50 guests and alot of them know the venue bc originally it was this March so I told them all it would be outside for the ceremony... but man... all this is making me 2nd guess myself now:(

@sooner365:  Why not do a mix? First buds of spring flowers breaking through the snow? Love anew? Etc.? :)

@sooner365:  I think that could be really enchanting to walk into a room decorated like that. Decorations with faux snow and vivid flower petals peeking through. You can combine all the colors coming through in the photos you posted above. Perhaps instead of silvery tree limbs, choose woodsy limbs in forest green or bark with flower buds, some already in blossom, and maybe frosted here and there with snow. Trying to come up with other ideas for you. Makes me want to do this theme for some upcoming occasion, too! :)

Do whatever the heck you want since it's your day. If someone doesn't like it, oh well. They can do their own thing when it's their turn.
