rather than a fancy cake covered in fondant or thick icing (which i hate the taste of) i’d rather have a far more simple cake – sponge/buttercream etc and without too much decorations/ i feel like nowadays cakes are designed to be photogenic rather than delicious

or maybe cupcakes?

@PixelMePretty:  Does anyone else find the cake with the baby on top really creepy?  Is it edible? *shiver*

Something fresh and light with berries!

Or better yet, you could ask the mom to be what dessert she’s been craving and make a tower out of it. For me, it could be DONUTS.

@newname_99:  I agree with going the more simple route.  I threw a baby shower for my SIL last fall.  The theme was “My little punkin”.  We did cupcakes with cute little sugar pumpkins on top.  There were cute and delicious.
