Hahah... I laugh because before I found WB, I would've done the same thing.
If J planned our wedding it would be amazing, BUT he would probably have to quit his job to do it (not the best time manager) AND we'd go waaaaay over budget and probably into debt.
Where does one find these "love" stamps? I didn't know you could do that! Is that something everyone does? I hope they're not super expensive cause they are not typical
Everything would be nintendo and legos and robots. :p
And a crapton of LED things
...I will have to answer this one after the wedding. I am hoping that it will be spectacular though =)
I don't even want to think about it! I let him choose our STD's and am on the verge of regretting it. It looks like a kindergardener made them! I do think it's important that I get his feedback, but guys definitely need to be made aware that things like special stamps even exist.
He'd want a jazz band and tons of white roses. (Jazz puts me to sleep after 10 minutes, and I'm not that crazy about flowers. Good thing we both like rock music and candlelight, since that's the direction it's taking.)
LOL!!! He'd secretly book a venue in Monterey and change the invitations to reflect the new venue. SMH. He'd do it and wait until like a two weeks before the wedding to tell me, unless of course someone else spilled the beans. SMH
Only 1/2 of it would be planned because he has no concept of what actually needs to be planned. Yesterday when I brought up rings he was like 'really? we need to have rings for the wedding ceremony? why don't we just buy them later?....'
Ours would be about the same, but everyone (himself included) would be surprised when they walked into an empty/bare unplanned event. He has strong ideas about what he wants, but no follow through on the details!!
@Redtartan- my guy wants jazz too! I gave in - We are going to have it during the cocktail hour, and then a DJ to get everyone dancing later.
I promise no one looked at the envelopes and cared. It's just a stamp.
I bought forever stamps last year to lock in a lower postage rate. My invites will be going out with Liberty bells on them.
...he would choose a Marvel Comics inspired wedding theme...
If my FI planned the wedding, we'd have guest appearances and special toasts by Star Wars characters, The Hulk, Spiderman, Superman, etc.
We would have a bbq at his parent's farm with lots of beer and card tables, but my dress would be an enormous ball gown, with gloves over my elbows and a flowing veil :) He says he wants a lot to "unwrap." He has clearly not thought this through.
Hmmmm. He'd be really stressed and do way too much research into how to do everything 'properly' instead of doing what he wanted. I honestly don't think he'd be able to do it all. He wouldn't do somethings that I think are quite important like thank you cards. We wouldn't have any flower girls :(
Many things would be the same, though - I think our venues would be the same, though he probably would have booked a hotel for the reception as he didn't know about the place where we're actually having it (and he's IMO not a very inventive researcher!).
It would be a lovely wedding :)
nothing would get done. He still hasn't called the pastor to make sure our date is availible. *sigh*
scissors! we'd have everything LED too! He's all into the LED candles and floryalytes. We'd have way to many light sources and no one would understand why.
That and we'd probably have some inapropriate music choices and pink daisys (my favorite) for our formal November reception.
If we were lucky he'd plan something. He'd rather just have his dad marry us and get on with life as a married couple. He literally told me that we didn't need to worry about booking the venue because nobody ever gets married at that church and therefore we can just let them know the week before...ummm...no!!!!!! Anyway, it'd pretty much suck compared to what I want since he'd rather just wing it...and the honeymoon lol
My FH wants to buy a coke machine at Sams for the reception. He said guests wouldn't have to pay for the drinks, but it would be cool and different to have one. He also wants McDonalds cheeseburgers (ew) and "showers of firework things". Sigh, he's cute.
@alundberg u're FH sounds like mine ours would prob. be like that too lol or nothing would get done at all lol
I used to have nightmares (before we were engaged!) about him planning our wedding. My favourite one was where we had the reception at a bar with tiled bar height tables and plastic flowers. Niiiice.
If my FI planned the wedding we would be having a Star Wars wedding.....
I like Star Wars but thank goodness I'm doing the planning!
My FI would hire a punk band, invite people by word of mouth, and throw a huge party. He is still getting his party, but a bit toned down.
lol he's such a guy, he asked why i was stressing and why dont i just print them out on colored paper, TRI FOLD IT and mail it out?! I was like uhhhh this isn't a kegger!!! really... flyers... why dont i just write BYOB at the top in sharpie too? hes so cute
It would revolve around everything being done on a computer, with light sabers, Spock and maybe have an XBOX or two.

He would run all of the STDs through the postage machine at work, instead of picking out a "love" themed, or appropriated colored stamp. Sigh. He called me, very proud that he mailed out the STDs, and when I asked what stamp he put on them, that is what he told me! Honestly I don't really care; I think it is cute that he felt so accomplished. But I let him know that I wanted real stamps on our invitations. He seemed a bit crushed that he did something 'wrong,' which made the whole thing even more cute! Has your guy ever done something wedding related along these lines?
