Haha awww. I love it. They try so hard, don't they?
Well, I think my FI and I have really similar taste in clothing, and he already guessed what kind of dress I'll have, just by knowing my style and by watching SYTTD with me.
I don't think he really cares..he just said he doesn't really like the big poofy ballgowns.
My DH wanted pickups and tons of them. I just thought I would look like a giant cupcake. They look ok on some girls, but I tried one on for ha ha's and jut couldn't do it. I ended up picking something that had just a few sweeping style pickups in order to meet his needs.
Usually he's not so left field, but I think weddings are like an alien language to him :)
That's awesome that you guys could compromise & find something you both love! Pick ups & big dresses with them swallow me. I would literally look like a giant cupcake in a dress like that.. all poof and then my head and arms swimming around on top. While they look great on some women, I am just not one of them.

I've been browsing a lot and still haven't decided on a dress (all I know is I'll be buying something off the rack and likely short/untraditional), but the other day my partner comes over with his laptop and says "sweetie I just found this cool website where you can order knock offs for ridiculously cheap" (he was talking about lightinthebox.com, been there already hun!) and then he proceeds to show me a dress he thinks I would like/should get.
I had a really hard time not laughing (not that I particularly dislike the dress, it's just pretty well the exact opposite of what I had in mind/the feel of our super casual afternoon waterfront picnic shindig).
Anyone else have a fashion disconnect with their partner?
