charleston is an awesome city! the market is AMAZING on a weekend – lots of fun stuff to buy. we did a ghost walking tour and a haunted jail tour that were really interesting. even if youre not into that kind of stuff, you learn a lot of really interesting history. depending on how long you’ll be there, you may want to go to the beach. isle of palms is really cute and there are some good restaurants

Take a horse coach ride tour around the city. So fun and learned so much! Also if you can get out to the Plantation. Boones I think it is? Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got married there. Have some hush puppies for me!

If you like to be active, go to Mt. Pleasant and go kayaking in Shem Creek.  Dolphins frequent there and will often jump out of the water right in front of your kayak.

So much to do here! If you’re into history some thoughts: Fort Sumter, Yorktown, Battery, Old Exchange, carriage ride, plantations, museums, house tours. If you’re just looking to relax there are a bunch of beaches too. Too much food to name them all, I’m a sucker for 82 Queen and Fig, DH loves Shem Creek. Great shopping on King Street and down by the market.

I loved Charleston! I was only there for 2 days, but we did a bus tour, a museum, a house tour, and went to Ft. Sumter. We also took an evening stroll along the Battery, which was really nice, hit up the outlet mall, and ate at some cute places downtown.

Are you staying downtown?

What kind of nightlife are you looking for? Clubs, hoppin bars, wine bars, classy?

Some of my favorite bars downtown…

The Rooftop at Vendue Inn–>classy rooftop, great atmosphere

The Griffon–>Laid back pub, beer, put a dollar on the wall, that sorta thing

Social–> Fun slash classy wine bar

Midtown–>More of a younger crowd with live music a lot of nights and a patio out back

Anything on King Street…lots of new things have opened up lately!
