Vent away, he’s a jerk for saying something.  Good intentions or not, it’s never right to lecture a total stranger about the choices they’re making.  ESPECIALLY an expecting mom!

I hope you enjoyed your muffin, and I hope you feel better soon!

I hate people sometimes.  Unless someone is offering (in a nice way) to purchase you something else for lunch or something to supplement your lunch, then they need to stfu!

Ugh I know, as soon as you’re pregnant or have kids EVERYONE thinks you need their advice. Surely they realise that pregnant women are very sensitive? I probably would have cried if he had said that to me right now. Everything I normally eat at the moment for dinner is making me retch just thinking about it, I’ve had several nights the last couple of weeks of eating cereal for dinner because I can’t stomach anything else. Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Just perfect the polite “I don’t give a shit” smile and nod for people like the construction guy 😉

@Songbird29:  I’m sorry you don’t feel good! As a fellow preggo I feel your pain. As for that guy he is a dumb ass. Any pregnant person will tell him that when you can eat something, eat it. It may not be the most nutritious thing on the menu but it is better than nothing!

Hope you feel better!

ridiculous.

The only time a pregnant womans diet bothers me in the least is when she goes on and on and on about how important good nutrition is for the baby but all you see her eat is fast food (i knew someone like this – claimed to be a nutrition buff and all this crap, but she ate mcdonalds all.the.time)

What the ???

What makes this construction worker think he gets any say in what you eat or what’s healthy for you and your baby? I think I would have smashed that muffin in his stupid face. Ugh, and a muffin’s not even the worst you could do. If I want a giant hot fudge sundae for lunch with a side of gummy bears, I will have it thankyouverymuch and I dare anyone to say something about it.

What an ass! Sorry hun! {{hugs}}

You should walk up to him, pat his belly and ask “is that how you took care of your baby when YOU were pregnant!?!” Regardless of his response he will look like the asshole that he is! Now eat your muffin and RELAXXXXXXXXXXX!

Wow that’s awful, he has no freaking clue! I would have been really pissed off, too.

Maybe to make you feel better, my dinner last night was 1/2 lb sauteed mushrooms, three pieces of swirled rye/pumpernickel toast, and for dessert, strawberries and whipped cream.

We eat what we can during pregnancy and often it’s not a “complete” meal. The baby gets what they need from us. A muffin certainly isn’t the worst meal many of us pregnant girls have eaten, so chin up, you’re doing great!

I feel your pain!

I once at a bagel with cc and had THEEEE worst heartburn/nausea everrrrr, then the next week all I could keep down were french fries and various forms of potato.  The last thing I wanted was a peice of pale yellow steamed chicken breast and salad – GAG!  I figure as long as I take my prenatal, the vitamins were getting to the baby hehe also when I am feeling very nauseus, a muffin does help calm my stomach.  I also ate a muffin every night before bed one week.  I’ll usually opt for a blueberry or banana muffin because mentally, I’m telling myself it’s “a healthier choice”
