@sunshinewish15:  Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought Godparents were for kids who get baptized.  The role being Godparents raise the child up in the Catholic faith should something happen to the child’s parents.

@sunshinewish15:  Ah, yes, sponsors makes more sense.  I think having your boyfriends parents would be a good idea.  Or any adult that is devote.  I truly admire you.  I was born and raised Catholic so this is all I know.  Lol.  My fiance’s father converted when he was in his mid twenties.

@sunshinewish15:  I think having your boyfriend’s parents as your godparent/sponsor is a great idea. A godparent is not just to raise a child in the faith should the parents no longer be around. A godparent/sponsor is like a second parent in faith to guide you and always support you. Congratulations on this great milestone in your life!

@sunshinewish15:  you are very welcome. I doubt your parents would get offended. I’m guessing that they figure they wouldn’t be your godparents because they aren’t catholic and therefore can’t lead the way in the religion. I can understand it’s hard for your mom, but she will come around 🙂

I think it could also be good to consider having friends you’ve made who are not related to your boyfriend. It could cause less drama for your own family, and could be nice for you as well. If you’ve met any people you clicked with at your parish that you enjoy having conversations with about faith, you could ask them to be your sponsors.

they need to be confirmed Catholics so hopefully that helps narrow it down. Now who of this smaller list is a role model to you?
