I’ve already given DH his valentine’s day presents. I got him a new xbox controller, a turtle beach headset, and season 3 of downton abbey (though we both benefit from the last one).
He hates surprises, and I always order things insanely early because I’m an over-planner. So, he asked if he could have his gifts. I agreed because I really, really wanted to watch downton abbey, LOL.
Did any of you give your SO their gift already (if you are getting them something, of course)? Have you recieved early gifts?
(I realize valentine’s day is an over-commercialized holiday, but DH had been talking about buying the controller/headset for a while and I decided it was the perfect time to get him a ‘present’).

I already bought FI’s gift, but I can’t give it to him early b/c it’ll be delivered on Valentine’s day itself (it’s a bunch of assorted popcorns; long story short, I bought it for my step-dad for Christmas and FI was like “I want that!!” sooo…that’s what I got him! lol)
And I already know what I’m getting 😀 FI is taking me to a fancy-pants romantic dinner at our venue! 😉 (and we’re using a LivingSocial deal for the meal b/c we’re weirdos who like to pinch pennies to the extreme)

@inky_1: Aw, cute!
I doubt DH has even gotten anything for me yet, or if he will. I’m the thoughtful, romantic one and he’s the last minute, rushed teddy bear giver one. I threatened him this year: no teddy bears or giant cards or I’ll scream. Haha.

@AcheneMalefic: I am also an early buyer and so jic I needed to return it he got it two weeks ago.
It was a shiatsu message cushion. quad massagers that are heated. I love it as much as he does.

@AcheneMalefic: last time I heard my SO was joking about my engagement ring being my v-day anniversary gift (yes, cliche, we started going steady on v-day)

My Fi is taking me for Dinner like usual and in return he gets the gift of fullfilling his sexual desires lmfao

We celebrate Valentines as it’s the anniversary of when we officially started dating. We have sort of exchanged gifts already. I wanted a pair of boots that were quite pricey so I wasn’t going to buy them. He brought me to the store last week and said “I’ll buy them. Happy Valentines” (I needed to get my size and he didn’t know exactly which ones I wanted). They needed to be ordered and they’ll be in next week. In return, I bought him an android tablet, that he wanted. It was on sale but also had to be ordered. He should get it Monday. (He knows about it – I didn’t know what one he wanted).
I must say, I do feel INCREDIBLY guilty spending so much on Valentines gifts with a wedding to plan, but he really is just so happy and that makes it worth it.

Aww! This thread is cute! FI and I are buying each other a “healthy heart” present, meaning, I get a new set of pilates bands and he’s getting weighted boxing gloves. We know what each other is getting and likely will go pick it out together too!

I got DH whiskey stones and a new whiskey drinking glass.

@Paperbagprincess14: That is very, very cute.
I don’t know what it is yet, but FI emailed this morning “Just ordered your Valentine’s gift!” 🙂 🙂

I broke my last pair of sunglasses, and DH gifted my new pair of sunglasses early. I love it, and it’s from my fav designer, Chloe! I haven’t gotten his gift yet. I’m still trying to figure out what he wants.

I always buy SO’s gifts early, but I will hold out on giving it to him until the actual day. We will celebrate by going out to eat together (I have no idea where, as SO made the reservations and is keeping it a surprise), and later we will be exchanging our gifts. I have no idea what he will be getting for me. But I have gotten him a copy of the book The Painted Veil. Though it is a bit of an unlikely love story, it is a story with special meaning for us. We celebrated our 1st year anniversary staying at a romantic cabin in the Great Smokey Mountains, and while we were there, we watched the movie together for the first time and it was a special and incredibly romantic moment. With the book, I will be including a love note expressing how much that moment meant for me. I am excited already!

No I never give gifts early, and I never tell what they are either, haha.
But this year I am getting his favorite mens’ collection from Bath&Bodyworks and a pillow. He specifically pointed out a pillow from a video and said,”I want one of those!” So now I have to learn how to make one, lol.
I’m not sure what I’m getting yet, but we won’t be exchanging gifts until the end of this month because he’s out of the country.

Nope, not yet! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Valentines Day so we will of COURSE be celebrating with presents, dinner, movie, dessert, and flowers :). Haven’t picked out his gift yet so I’m running out of time!

Yep, I got him a video game — it’s not here yet, but I pre-ordered it and he knows it’s coming.
