A little background: I’ve been on and off BC for the last 6 years and whenever I’m not on BC, I have very heavy, frequent periods (usually 2 per month lasting 8-10 days each). My doctor suspects endometriosis so my Darling Husband and I were prepared for a long, difficult road to TTC. We have been NTNT this cycle (at least I think that’s the right acronym), with tentative plans to start TTC this fall.
Things aren’t going as planned this cycle. As soon as my period started I planned on starting to temp. But my period is still not here. This is my 2nd cycle off the pill and I’m on CD 29, with no period and no BFP. I have never ever gone this long without a period before. Even other times I stopped the pill my period started back up immediately. I assumed I ovulated around CD 11 or 12 since my cycles are so short, but after speaking with my Boyfriend or Best Friend who is a fertility know-it-all, she thinks I ovulated last Monday or Tuesday, so about CD 20 or 21. I was floored because I thought I was in the “safety” zone then since my cycles are just never this long.
I guess my question is, would starting to temp now be any help at all in figuring out what is going on? I planned on waiting till my period starts, but what if it’s weeks away? Or should I just wait this cycle out and start temping on the first day of my next period? I guess I’m just really nervous and not really sure what to do right now. Thanks for reading 🙂
