I had no idea unless you went to David’s Bridal, you had to find a dress so far out! I’m a bad bride!
David’s Bridal was okay, but not anything where I was dying to throw my credit card down ASAP or order anything. Plus, she kept trying to push sashes and wide straps on me…yeah, not happening. Alfred Angelo had a dress off the rack I liked (but many I hated, including one that looked like a grandmother’s nightdress…ick), but nothing still made me feel super excited.
Today, I went to Ventura Bridal and was not wowed by the quick turnaround dresses, but figured that I would try out a few rack dresses. This champagne one caught my eye, so I grabbed it and two others to try on. As soon as I saw myself in this, I told the woman helping me that I didn’t want to try on the others. It was $800 off the original price, so I was even more thrilled.
It’s now stashed in my FIL’s house until I take it to go reinforce the beading a bit. I’m happy it’s in great condition! I wish I knew what kind of dress it was, but I was so excited about it that I forgot it.
I’m surprised I found something I love after procrastinating! (Not recommended!)

Greyhoundbrain: Gorgeous!! I love it–it looks beautiful on you! I love the way the fabric folds on the bodice and the beading. Just really, really beautiful.
I have to ask as I just noticed your username and avatar–do you have greyhounds?

Thanks! I was so excited to find the dress – I didn’t think I’d be able to find one that I was truly excited about.
MrsYokiman: yes! We have a 5 year old rescue girl (and 2 schipperkes – black and cream). I’ve aleays wanted another greyhound after I had one when I was little – I’ve almost had my greyhound girlie for four years now. She’s such a sweetheart. The username is in reference to my fiancé saying “use your greyhound brain…” when he wants me to think of something.

Greyhoundbrain: Aww—I love greyhounds! Especially rescued ones. If we didn’t live in an apartment and have five cats, I’d adopt one in a heartbeat!
