Yep. I use my cell and work numbers for almost everything so out little used home number I’ve apparently forgotten.
I put it on our invitations in case people have questions because I don’t want crazy long distance charges on my cell and I can’t be getting personal calls at work…
Well, our number is xx9-667-xxxx, wouldn’t you know that on our invites I wrote xx9-997-xxxx. I got asked about our number yesterday by our building manager and he told me what they had (they right one) but it was bugging me all night. This morning it hit me, I checked our info cards (Which were mailed last week in the invites) and yep…I’m an idiot.
Please tell me I’m not the first person to screw something like this up 🙁
EDIT – I WAS right – the office is wrong. apparently the long weekend was too much for my brain. Our number is 997 – what threw me and had me convinced I was wrong is that FH’s parents number is 667 and is actually pretty close to ours….Wow…I’m a moron.

@MsGinkgo: Oh gosh! I’ll admit I’m having trouble following: so did you have the correct number on your info card in the end?

Ack, hope it all worked out!
For the record, I don’t know my number either. 😛

@pengoala: it turns out that yes, i’m right and the number on the info card is correct. Somehow our leasing office has the wrong number and that’s where the confusion started. FH’s parents have a number very similar to ours which is 667 where ours is 997. I don’t call his parents house much anymore (because he doesn’t live there) so I know the number in the back of my head and it has that familiar sound to it so I was easily swayed into thinking that I had ours wrong.
didn’t help that landlord read the number and the numbers they have are supposed to match what’s programmed into the buzzer box to let people in – our buzzer works so I just assumed that they have the correct number written down, apparently they made the mistake somewhere….it is confusing.
No mistake, I’m just an idiot who doesn’t know her phone number well enough to know for sure she got it right on her invites…

I don’t know my home phone number either!

@MsGinkgo: Oh my goodness well I am so glad to hear that you were right and that it all worked out! It’s okay – at least it’s fair to say you probably won’t forget your number now! 😉

Hah, I don’t even know the area code for my home phone number. The number is legit in my cell phone contact list, AND on a post-it in my office in case I need it. Don’t feel too bad!
Plus, you got the number right on your info card!

@abbie017: couldn’t tell you what FH’s cell number is either – it’s programmed in my cell phone, i’m not 100% sure what his area code is…I think I know…problem is, where we live there are 5 or 6 possible area codes.
My cell, work, and home are all different, I think FH’s cell and work are another 2 different ones…

@MsGinkgo: I feel you! DH and I never changed our numbers when we moved for college – so I have one, he has a different one, our house is a third, and we each work in different area codes (I’m in VA and he’s across the river in DC, but there are still different areas codes for us!). It’s such a headache! Oh well. If I ever lost my cell phone, I’d be screwed. The only phone number I do know is my parent’s home phone, and that’s because it’s been the same since I was a baby.
