Since I last posted, I was devasted about the proposal I didn't get on Valentines day, but everything is settled, my ring is on the way, and in the past week we've booked the hall/caterer and I ordered my dress! Which, btw, is completely different than what I originally thought I wanted (dark red, strapless and sweetheart neckline).

thanks ladies! it feels a little surreal. my fi and i were also planning to pay for all or most of the wedding ourselves so when my mother said "i don't care if you were wearing a halloween costume, i'm going to pay for your dress."
