This is my first post, so do forgive me if I do something wrong! 🙂
I ordered my dress last month. Alfred Angelo 2119
with the awesome bow in the back! (This is not me, by the way. This is just a pic I found on google.)
Now I have the impossible task of finding a bridesmaid dress that compliments my dress without looking too similar. The wedding will be semi formal. The guys will wear suits instead of a tux. I want the girls wearing plum and the guys wearing charcoal. It probably won’t be too cold at that time (we’re in Alabama) and everything is taking place inside. With all that being said, I just don’t know if I should have long or short dresses. These are the ones that we’ve narrowed it down to. My poor bridesmaids have tried on SEVERAL. They’re troopers!! 🙂
**I should probably mention that I have 5 ladies, ranging from size 2 to size 22.
Any other suggestions would be wonderful. It was so much easier to pick my dress than theirs!!

Lovely dress! I’m so jealous that you’ve found one already because I sure haven’t 😉
I really like either of the one-shouldered dresses.
If this helps, two of my bridesmaids with different shapes tried on a dress similarly cut to this: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2880/#.UULJAxwnQ3U (it had a more straight than “peaked” waist) and it looked great on both of them … the sales rep says that dresses in those styles with natural waists (which all of your choices seem to have) suit a wide range of body types.

I like the second picture the most, I think it’s a similar shape to you dress (beautiful, btw!) and also a very flattering shape for any figure.

I have something similar to the first dress but it is long. I have 4 bridesmaids that range from size 2-24 so a V-neck will be flattering on all of them. Here is a link to the dress I picked! They all loved it because it is very flattering on all of them! I found that the bridesmaid’s dresses were more difficult than my dress, so good luck!!

@bshort: your dress is beautiful what sizes are your bridesmaids?

The first dress looks like it would be most flattering to a range of body types and sizes.
The V-neck will be the most flattering for all.

I LOVE the one shoulder also. I have 6 bridesmaids ranging from size 4-18ish and their dresses are one shoulder and it was fairly flattering on all of them.

The first one looks like it would be the most flattering on everyone.

As much as I like #2…
I think #1 (v neck) will be more comfortable and flattering to everyone.

I say short. The first one.

We get married 11-11. I just sent my ladies an email yesterday with their dress info and color. Man was it a lot harder than I ever imagined it would be!

@bshort: HI DRESS TWIN!!! 🙂
ill be wearing mine in 7 weeks!
Dresses for my Bridesmaids were also very hard to choose. For me, I had a tough time with color. We finally found the winner from Ann Taylor. We got them on a great sale right around Christmas. My sister will be wearing the scoop neck and my other Bridesmaid or Best Man will wear the v neck. The material is a silk dupioni
I also vote for the V neck, I think it’s the most versatile! Keep us posted om what you decide!
