I have been gaining more and more weight, not by eating horrible(I could pass up the little snacks I have from time to time lol) but from not really going out and excrising. Now with wedding coming I am trying to loss weight even if it is just 20-30lbs I would be happy but my goal(even if I reach it after wedding is fine because I am going to keep on it is to get back down to 130lbs at least but no lower than 125lbs). I started gaining weight after my mother pass not because I kept eatting I did the oppsite I stopped eatting but it killed my metabolism plus all the stress I did have. I used to be always between 120-130lbs but now I am at 217lbs.
I just started doing Zumba(have had a few people tell me to try) along with going to our work out room at our apartment complex.
This is me at 217lbs.
ETA: I am also not just doing it to make myself look better but because I recently found out that I have the same heart disease that my mother did so its another push to really become health/a better weight.

I will join you on your journey. I’d love to lose 60 lbs ultimately but even if I’m down 10lbs over the holiday season, that would be great.

@oangeo: I have the first zumba for the wii and I like it. I cant dance either but I really like how they go through every step with you lol.

@BrandNewBride: Congrats on your loss and thank you 🙂

@Jacqui90: I’m in! I’ve gain 50 lbs in the last few years from not being active, my age, and doc says carbs ( which is awful for me, I love pasta, potatoes, and bread). I finally made up my mind not to get diabetes like my family. I saw a groupon for 40 classes and I did it. I’ve already signed up for the first one. This place you have to reserve a spot, don’t show and they charge you. That’s a new purse so its huge motivation for me. I’ll post pics when I pick up my new phone Tuesday.

@rmrsln2010: Well at the moment just starting MyFitnessPal again, which should open my eyes to the calories I consume every day. I log EVERYTHING. And I am looking at buying a Zumba fitness workout DVD pack, which I think I would prefer to actual classes (and it’s cheaper too!) So hopefully I will be more motivated to watch what I eat (or the calories at least) and be inspired to do a little bit of exercise.

@rmrsln2010: You can do it! 🙂
I also would like to lose about 20lbs & go from 140lbs to 120lbs. My goal is to do this by the end of december, but even if I just dropped down to 130lbs by then I would be fairly happy (going to Florida on first vacation in a longggg time!)

I think i need to join… I had done weight watchers 2 years ago and went down from 186 to 155. Now, I’m back up to 176, which is a problem. My goal is 150. If I can lose at least 10-15 pounds by December, I’d be thrilled..it’ll be my birthday gift to myself!

@rmrsln2010: Count me in! I’d like to be at least 20 lbs. lighter over the next year. So sorry to hear about your mom. My weight gain also started with a major life change (moving across the country). Although it can’t really compare to losing a family member, I understand how the stress completely derails you.
Zumba is totally the way to go!! I used to run 3 miles daily (several years ago lol) but nothing tones my calves & legs like Zumba- must be all the jumping around 🙂 I finally went to my first class over the weekend after taking a good 3 months off. I have a long way to go to get back to where I was, but we can do this!!
@Jacqui90: It sounds weird but I think going to a live Zumba class is actually easier. I’ve seen the DVDs and those ladies are such trained dancers and in such crazy good shape, while real-life instructors set more of a realistic example to follow 🙂 The classes I’ve been to haven’t been competitive at all, the opposite actually- it’s great to have “Zumba friends” in class to chat with and complain about the new routines with 🙂 Also the music in a live class will be louder than what you can manage at home, which keeps the energy up. Sorry to ramble but I love Zumba!
And you are so right- doing Zumba has made me feel so much better about myself, and that has motivated me to make better choices regarding food, etc.

I’m in too!
Im currently at 214 :S My goal is to be around 160- I want to be curvy and fit, if i go a little lower thats cool to but my goal is 160lbs( should put me around a size 8 or 9ish).
I just signed up for a running clinic and my fitness goal is to run the Vegas Rock’n Roll Half marathon next Nov/Dec. I have two goals next year – the half marathon(on my bucket list) and to be the fittest I have ever been by my 30th bday(november next year).

Is this just for Zumba?
I am just jumping back on the fitness bandwagon. Fell off for a few weeks but have been heading in a good direction. Had my highest weight this year of 187. As of now, I am 173. I would love to be under 160 by the end of the year and overall down to 145 (the highest weight in my healthy range for my height). This is from the last few months jogging (i trained myself by modifying couch25k to be able to run a mile without stopping WHHHAAAATTT) and making slightly better choices, i will emphasize the slightly part.
I did 30 day shred for a couple weeks, but couldn’t do it everyday. Want to start it up again today! I suppose I could try Zumba instead… I really want something that will work my stomach and arms.

@kestane: Thanks, but I have social anxiety so I think the classes would be a bit too much for me, and more expensive. I definitely agree that instructors on workout videos are crazy fit though!
