Let me just say I thought it would NEVER happen. We've been living together for almost a year, we've dated for 4 years, and I had come to the resolution that I would be waiting a couple more years. But this past weekend he proposed!

The ring is perfect and my parents gave him their blessing before he asked me so....everything worked out well!

Yay!!! I'm so happy for you!!

Ok, here's the story :) 

FH and I went to our hometown to visit our families over Veteran's Day weekend. That Friday night, we planned on going out to dinner with my parents. Unbeknown to me, FH spoke with my parents earlier in the day and got their blessing to propose to me later that night. My parents were very excited and wondered how they would keep this a secret the rest of the day. Once we got to the restaurant, FH mentioned to me that he heard about a cool place to go to and he wanted to take me there after dinner. He claimed I might not like the place so to ensure I couldn't say no before we got there, he wanted me to keep my eyes covered the whole way until we got there. I reluctantly agreed. Once we got there, FH led me out of the car (eyes still closed) and we started walking through some grass. FH told me to open my eyes and asked if I knew where we were. I was pretty confused and admitted I had no idea. He explained to me that we were in the exact place we had our first kiss with each other back in the 8th grade 10 years ago. We were each other's first kiss and it happened to be in one of our friend's backyard. He held me close and said that over the past 10 years both of us have dated other people and searched around for that special person, but he had it right the first time and would like nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with me. He then got down on one knee and proposed...and I said YES!!!
