Venuselise:  How about one dad walk you down the part of the isle, where your next dad will stand up, shake his hand and continue you with you the rest of the way to the alter.

leisha606:   I like this idea with a variation.  Your dad walks you halfway down, your stepdad comes in about halfway down the aisle and they both complete the walk with you-symbolic of real life.  If width is an issue, have them walk just a couple of steps behind you.  “We do” is a perfect response to “who gives this bride…?”

Venuselise:  Choose neither. Have your Mom walk you down the aisle instead. That way you don’t have to choose.

…or walk down the aisle alone!  Always love thatsymbolism  as well, like “I am a grown woman and give myself to you.”

I have the same situation, and have always planned to walk alone! After our first dance I will have a dance with my dad, followed by my setp-dad.

Venuselise:  I’m in the exact same situation, I’m actually closer with my step-dad (we refer to eachother as dad/daughter and he’s a lot more involved in my life) but my relationship with my bio dad has really improved in recent years and I don’t want to hurt that.

I’ve decided to have them both walk me down the aisle. It would make me so happy to have them both there with me and while my dad might be a little funny about it (my step-dad would have no issues no matter what I choose) I think he’ll respect my feelings about it and will happily be there for me.

Would you have both or do you only want to walk with one person?
